Reporting to: Research and Development Manager

Purpose of the job: To conceptualise, develop, manage and sustain a cost effective product innovation process, based on international best practice and leading edge technologies for Premier Foods to ensure profitable growth in line with business strategy.

Responsibilities:

• To ensure new product development to meet innovation portfolio gaps.
• To recruit, manage and leverage supplier relationship management.
• To identify, manage and execute continuous improvement projects relating to the core business.
• To ensure successful project execution to meet business objectives on time, on quality and in full.
• To deliver quality product in line with national best practise, quality standards and regulatory requirements in the food industry.
• To provide specialist advise to the business relating to new products (eg formulations, technology, compliance etc.)

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years product development experience
• Minimum of 3 years innovation development and implementation experience
• Experience in the milling/baking/confectionary/biscuit/breakfast/pasta/animal feed industry will be advantageous

Qualifications:

• NHD Food technology/ B.Sc Food science/ B.Tech Food technology/B Consumer science or equivalent qualification
