    Manager Mechanical and Piping Engineer

    Job description

    Under general supervision, independently applies advanced engineering techniques, makes decisions on engineering problems and methods, and represents the organization to resolve important questions or to negotiate with key engineers and officials of other organizations. Provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers and is consulted by others with a high degree of reliance placed on scientific interpretations and advice. Plans, schedules, and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Performs work which involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements.

    Responsible for detailed review and checking of all drawing, specifications, requisitions, study reports and key design calculations prepared by the discipline personnel. Liaise and co-ordinate with other Discipline Managers, Project Managers and Construction Management personnel to effect timely production of deliverables.

    Planning the preparation of the engineering activities within the mechanical and piping disciplines including the workhour budgets, work schedules, manpower loadings and staffing, by skill and experience, to satisfy job requirements.

    Ensure maintenance of technical records and discipline procedures within the discipline areas. Responsible for the development and training of team members.

    Experience Required: Minimum of 10 years related industry experience, with average experience ranging from 10+ years. Extensive experience in the PetroChemical industry working on EPC FEED contracts. Specific design experience in Pressure systems, pressure vessels and heat exchangers.

    Qualifications: Essential: B.Sc degree and PrEng registration

    Desirable: Design software: MicroStation, 3D Modelling platforms
