    Compliance Officer

    Job description

    Reporting to the Account Manager, the primary objective of the person appointed for this role will be to ensure the compliance of all growers, pack houses and relevant supply chain participants involved in the growing, packing and export of fruit to the expected standard.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Leading the day to day of the Compliance Team
    • Creating a team structure from which to work from
    • Communicating customer requirements to growers/pack houses
    • Ensuring growers/pack houses are constantly adhering to customer requirements by:
      • Helping with preparation and execution of supermarket audits
      • Pre-visits before customer visits
      • Internal Auditing
    • Ensuring that grower audits are:
      • Taken within the required period
      • Closed Off within the required period
    • Co-ordinating and Tracking MRL testing
    • Liaising information between growers, importers and marketing companies
    • Travel between sites both locally and nationally
    • Stay up to date with changes in standards and laise changes to all stake holders

    Desired qualifications/experience:

    • Relevant Tertiary Qualification, preferably in agriculture or food science
    • B.Agric/ Bsc Food Science
    • Experience with supermarket audit process and internal auditing
    • Training and experience in the following audits:
    • BRC / Global GAP/ SIZA/SEDEX/SMETA
    • Tesco Nurture/ Waitrose Farm Assessment/ Field to Fork/ Albert Heijn Protocol
    • At least 5 Years Job Specific Experience critical
