    Rewards and Benefits Consultant

    Job description

    Key Performance Outputs

    The successful candidate, who will be reporting to the Group Manager Rewards and Benefits, will be responsible to:

    • Contribute to the development and improvement of organisational standards, policies, and procedures within span of control and monitor implementation to ensure full compliance.
    • Actively contribute towards the design and implementation of appropriate HR Core business rules for remuneration and benefits systems (payroll, compensation, HR Core).
    • To ensure effective and accurate participation / commissioning of rewards and benefits surveys in line with company requirements.
    • Manage the job evaluation policy and implementation process in line with the broader remuneration policy and terms of reference.
    • Review new and changed roles to ensure that job profiling governance process is adhered to and no job overlap or grade creeps.
    • Manage the Company Discipline Framework, Job Catalogue and Job Architecture Framework matrix.
    • Manage the administration of the Company organisational report in line with the Job Catalogue and proactively resolve deviations.
    • Provide specialised technical / professional advisory service to internal and external stakeholders to ensure achievement of functional and organisational objectives.

    Technical Skills and Experience

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Human Resources or Industrial Psychology, supported 5 years’ operational experience in Job Evaluation and Organizational Structuring.
    • A certification as a Global Remuneration Practitioner (GRP), registration as a Reward Analyst with SARA and membership with the South African Board of People Practices are advantageous.
    • Professional knowledge of theory and techniques in a specialized field, acquiring through tertiary education and/or considered experience.
    • Advanced knowledge and experience of MS Office applications

    Competencies

    The ideal candidate will portray exceptional confidence when interacting with others, even those with greater authority. The ability to influence, whilst maintaining a customer service orientation. The ability to communicate clearly, explaining a point of view and its reasoning as well as being tactful and communicating in a non-confrontational and polite manner will be required. Furthermore, the successful candidate will display outstanding planning skills combined with unquestionable conflict management skills. It is essential that the incumbent is able to consistently solves challenging problems and pays attention to detail.
