    Position Description

    A position has become available for a Relationship Managerwho will be based in the Broker Services: Gautengin Vereeniging area. The position is responsible to ensure the successful implementation and management of short-term initiatives. This job is focused on the retention and profitable growth of allocated broker portfolios through the development and management of strong relationships with intermediaries and internal business partners.

    Key Responsibilities

    Work in this job family is focused on the retention and profitable growth of allocated intermediary portfolios through developing and management of strong relationships with intermediaries and internal business partners (at a strategic level for Key Account Managers).

    • Support sales strategy and business plan for the individual broker
    • Establish and manage strong relationships with brokers including business manager
    • Growth of allocated broker portfolios
    • Assist in identifying new potential brokers and opportunities for business growth
    • Awareness of competition and market information
    • Facilitate the sales process and ensure that brokers deal with correct channels
    • Monthly analysis of figures down to broker level
    • Report at Broker Services regional meetings
    • Portfolio budgeting in conjunction with short-term targets
    • Distribution channel management, Reporting, Underwritting, Claims Resolution, Business planning and networking

    Minimum Requirements

    • Grade 12
    • H Dip/Degree in Insurance studies (recommended)
    • FAIS compliance: 60 credits Commercial Line and 30 credits Personal Line or as per DOFA requirements
    • RE 5
    • Driver’s License
    • Commercial sales experience (intermediary, pricing)
    • At least 2 years short term insurance (STI) experience

    SKILLS

    • Formal training program including time in all aspects (claims etc.)
    • Ability to perform independently
    • Ability to perform in a competitive environment
    • Ability to manage an office
    • Ability to co-ordinate the activities of the service consultant
    • Business, negotiation, selling, conflict management, presentation, FAST and writing skills
