Storm Trading has a world class in-house graduate program. Fortunate graduates are offered the opportunity to be trained in-house by successful traders and mentors. We are currently looking to take in a handful of individuals whom we will train and mentor to join our team of professional traders.

The course is a 12-week programme designed to include the following:

• Technical and fundamental analysis
• Order flow skill development
• Risk management
• Strategy research and development
• Trading psychology

Responsibilities:

• Identify and execute short term equity and futures trades using skills developed through our training program
• Regularly assist our trading team by researching and presenting short-term trading ideas
• Contribute ideas daily to new and intermediate traders on the trading floor
• Maintain constant research and study of news and macro-economic trends as well as chart patterns to better prepare and anticipate the markets

Compensation:

• Percentage split of trading profits(non-salaried).
• Traders will need to be able to support themselves in the initial parts of their training and trading as it takes time to develop your skills as a trader and start earning commission.
• These positions will be based in Cape Town.

Requirements for the course and subsequent role include the following:

• A degree completed with strong pass mark.
• A strong understanding and desire to form a deeper understanding of what the financial markets are all about.
• Must be able to handle a fast paced, steep learning curve.
• The individual should be highly driven, ambitious and have the ability to work well on his or her own.
• Entrepreneurial spirit, strong work ethic and ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
• Skills in basic programming, Microsoft Excel and charting software are a plus.
• Previous trading experience is not a must although eagerness to learn is essential.

• What personality traits do you possess that you believe will make you a successful trader?
• Explain briefly: one fundamental trade strategy and one technical trade strategy.
• Who is your favourite financial market guru/manager/analyst and why?
• How much money do you want to make every month as a trader to be successful?
