Job description

Export Logistic Supervisor & Facilities Specialist provides leadership for the function. The position is responsible for all aspects of Parts Supply & Logistics Operation & Facility in South Africa including facility design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing production processes including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination. The purpose is also to manage and control the Export Supply chain in order to ensure continuous financial benefit for CSO.

Position Details:

• Method Improvement: Develop and specify methods that will improve material flow and reduce waste of Direct Labour, Indirect Labour and Mobile Equipment through the application of sound Industrial Engineering principles and practices
• Material Flow: Plan and establish best practices within the warehouse. (Layouts, Facilities, Equipment, Methods)
• Standards: Conduct time and method studies establishing time standards for the Warehouse operations.
• Change Implementation: Lead and Instruct NWG Leaders and Supervisors in the implementation of method improvements.
• Managing and controlling of the Export Supply Chain in order to retain customers and ensure ongoing financial benefit to FMCSA CSO.
• Ensure key customer profiles are developed into key operating metrics aligned with customer criteria, operation target, and corporate policy
• Supervise 5 S’s warehouse project by defining and designing facility and material handling improvement and efficiency programs – a total solution package for the CSD Warehouse
• Plan future facility expansion requirements in line with new model cycle plans and ensure funding in the business plans
• Develop Supply and Logistics process metrics and track operations performance and cost against plan and budget
• Manage the warehouse projects

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong logistics and Customs background.
• Be familiar with Customs Systems and Government Regulations and container stuffing.

Qualification & Experience:

• 3-4 years’ experience in Export and Logistics – required
• 2-3 years Supervisory experience
• Motor Industry retail – beneficial
• B-Com / Industrial Engineering degree
