    Group Manager Technical Research and Development

    Job description

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

    • Developing research frameworks aligned to strategic business objectives , assessing and prioritising technical research areas
    • Developing policies and procedures to govern product and service development
    • Initiating the development of new products and services and the case for change amongst key impacted stakeholders and executives
    • Establishing and managing healthy, diverse, workable internal and external relationships
    • Establishing clear frameworks, guidelines and processes for collaboration with business in terms of research and knowledge management
    • Integrating and embedding regulation and compliance in research and product development policies and frameworks to ensure successful implantation of solutions and products
    • Implement and manage people development processes such as performance management, succession planning and talent management to meet functional performance standards.

    The successful candidate must have the following:

    • A 4-year Degree in (Engineering/Airport/Aviation) is essential.
    • A Master’s Degree in (Engineering/ Aviation ) will be an advantage
    • 5 to 7 years’ knowledge and experience in Technical Research is essential
    • 8 to 10 years’ Operational experience in coordination and implementation of multidisciplinary infrastructure projects is essential.
    • 5 years People and Stakeholder Management experience is essential for this role

    Competencies

    The ideal candidate must be detail orientated, have good planning skills, be focused on priorities and be able to manage time efficiently. The successful candidate should portray high levels of leadership skills and must have the ability to empower people. It is essential that the incumbent is ethical and trustworthy including having good interpersonal and communication skills. Furthermore, have the ability to apply problem solving skills and will be required to be strategic as well as have a broad market awareness.
