    HR Manager

    Job description

    Based in Stellenbosch, our client is undergoing an exciting, high growth phase and is seeking a dynamic Human Resource Manager to join the team.

    The Human Resources Manager’s primary accountability is to lead the HR function by partnering with management on ensuring appropriate talent acquisition, development and retention. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the function is managed optimally and ensure Berryworld South Africa’s compliance with labour regulation and any Group requirements.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Ensure that BerryWorld is compliant with relevant labour and employment laws.
    • Lead all recruitment initiatives, establishing internal governance, scoping the recruitment project and requirements with line managers and subsequently leading the process.
    • Partner closely with the Leadership Team to further improve performance within the teams.
    • Establish suitable HR policies and practices that provide clarity and transparency for all employees.
    • Ensure that all HR policies and practices are compliant with BerryWorld Group requirements and relevant legislation.
    • Develop, implement and maintain effective HR controls and systems.
    • Work closely with the Finance team on Payroll related matters (essentially remuneration and leave management).
    • Establishing HR targets, goals and objectives
    • Assume full responsibility for HR analytics, data and reporting metrics.
    • Work closely with the Leadership Team to make informed decisions regarding gaps and opportunities identified because of these analytics.
    • Corporate Social Responsibility: In time, assume a lead role in CSR.
    • Oversee and lead training and development plans (keeping pace with growth and change to ensure the company is ‘’future fit’’).
    • Establish strong inter departmental relationships within the organization and relationships with key stakeholders in the wider group.
    • As a member of the company’s senior Leadership Team, drive overall company performance and improvement, and actively influence the company’s operational and strategic direction.
    • HR Projects (internal and external – i.e. with outside stakeholders): Lead HR related developments from time to time.

    Desired qualifications/experience:

    • Relevant tertiary degree.
    • At least 5 years of suitable generalist HR experience.
    • Knowledge of the key South African labour and employment laws.
    • Prior experience of working in a group structure would be advantageous.
    • Ability to develop positive working relationships with line managers.
    • Excellent oral and written communication and representational skills.
    • Driver’s license and own transport essential
