PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To research the property market and existing Pepkor footprint, identify potential properties, negotiate and close business deals for the rental or purchase of new premises as to expand, consolidate or reposition the Pepkor business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify and evaluate new opportunities
• Identify and evaluate opportunities to consolidate and/or reposition existing business
• Negotiate leases for new stores/premises
• Renewal of existing leases
• Liaise with landlords
• Presentations to board for approval
• Administration and record keeping of all property related processes

JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12
• Relevant tertiary qualification
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Property Management
• Exposure to the retail industry would be an advantage
• Computer Literate (MS Office)
• Willingness to travel
• Possess drive, motivation and acute attention to detail in ensuring that the potential for the Pepkor business is captured and explored

Competencies required:

Excellent negotiation and communication skills; well-organised; able to function independently, detail orientated and problem assessment
