Mission/ Core purpose of the Job

A member of the SA Exco reporting to the CEO, the role is to provide strategic and operational leadership to the Managed Network Services business unit. The MNS business unit provides a broad range of wholesale services to the SA and international market, including Carrier Services (voice, roaming, messaging), managed infrastructure (transmission, towers) and strategic managed network service contracts with other SA based MNOs. With a remit for delivering economies of scale to the broader SA business through strategic leverage of SA network assets, the role will have responsibility for developing and delivering strategy, resourcing and leading MNS team, delivering business unit KPIs, managing budgets, pursuing and negotiating complex network outsource deals, and generally ensuring operational performance of business unit.

Job Specifications/ Minimum & Preferred Requirements

Education / Business Degree

• Minimum of 4 year Engineering Technology or business related degree
• MBA or Masters in relevant field of study (Preferred)

Work Experience

• Min 10 years of relevant work experience in the telecoms market, with specific experience of wholesale (carrier services), mobile infrastructure or related field.
• Experience of mobile network infrastructure and commercial arrangements.
• Experience of regulatory and spectrum related issues
• Experience of complex commercial negotiations
• Experience in design and deployment of network sharing technologies
• Senior management track record of 5 years or more, with at least 3 years in relevant sector/industry
• Experience in Global Managed Network Services technologies and market trends
