DRIVEN PROJECT AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER FOR INTERNATIONAL COMPANY LOCATED IN JOHANNESBURG

ABOUT THE POSITION

As a project and business development manager you are part of the daily strategic work of our group companies, working to improve the organization’s market position and achieve financial growth. You will build key business relationships through professional stakeholder communication, help to identify new business opportunities, and maintain extensive knowledge of market conditions, sectors and our product supply.

Your tasks will include, project development and management, contract management, new business development, procurement, reporting and administration. You will also be required to attend business and networking functions and be a representative for our business. To match the broad business agenda and variety of tasks to be performed, experience and technical expertise in any of our target sectors; infrastructure, medical/health, water/sanitation, agriculture, aviation/drones, motor trade, energy/solar energy, and/or background in accounting, law, finance, project management or business development is required.

This position gives you a good opportunity to develop your project management skills, as you will be in charge of and coordinate a wide variety of operations. The position will be shared between the South African office located in Johannesburg, with travel to and longer stays in Tanzania and Zimbabwe as well as other EAC, SADC and West African countries.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

• Experience and technical expertise in any of our target sectors; infrastructure, medical/health, water/sanitation, agriculture, aviation/drones, motor trade, energy/solar energy, and/or background in accounting, law, finance, project management or business development is required.
• You have a true interest or experience in the SADC region or Africa at large
• You are flexible and ready to take on a wide variety of tasks
• You show initiative and have excellent problem solving skills
• In your work you are well organized, responsible and reliable. You pay attention to detail and like to push forward in order to finish your tasks in line with the deadline
• It is of merit if you have previous experience in international organizations
• You enjoy engaging with others and have excellent social and people skills
• You have a high level of spoken and written English
• Fluency in French or/and Chinese is a merit
• You have a Masters Degree or similar
• Good knowledge of InDesign or Photoshop is a merit
• You have a driver’s license
