    POC Business Development & Marketing Director

    Job description

    Overview

    This executive role is responsible for the recognition, management and development of Point-of-Care channels and markets throughout the Africa region for a vast range of POC products.

    The position involves high level collaborations with other Global Business Units and African Business Leaders to develop new markets, expand existing businesses, launch new products, boost organic growth and exceed business and financial goals. The successful candidate will be based in South Africa, covering the whole continent.

    Responsibilities

    • Liaise with internal and external key business partners and other affiliates through the most effective communications channels to drive regional sales targets up.
    • Provide expert knowledge for the existing product portfolio, platforms and POC market trends and customer segments in Africa.
    • Create training and support programs for existing and new products to transfer product knowledge throughout Africa.
    • Have a strategic focus contributing to the business development of the Global Business Unit, regularly providing extensive regional market intelligence to maximise other market opportunities.
    • Tailor and drive the regional POC business strategy to accelerate products and services.
    • Collaborate with marketing teams in Africa to ensure global synergy of business communications at regional congresses, customer seminars, field visits, KOL development, campaigns or other market development activity.
    • Regularly complete regional market research to identify and monitor product, customer and competitor trends relevant to the portfolio.
    • Customise portfolio sales tools, training programs, customer communications and activities to support the global brand strategies and Africa financial goals.

    Objectives

    • Establish, maintain and work within an annual budget.
    • Exceed regional portfolio revenue targets.
    • Exceed regional portfolio Gross Profit targets.
    • Motivate commercial teams in Africa to achieve relevant organisational goals.
    • Assume training and development as required.

    Qualifications & Experience

    Essential

    • Bachelor in a Scientific related field.
    • International Business Development or Business Management experience (at least 5 years), preferably in Africa

    Desirable

    • Post-Graduate qualifications in Marketing or Business.
    • Experience in international business development especially in diagnostics (POC/IVD).
    • Fluent in written and oral English.
    • Experience in several key regional markets including South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya and Egypt.
