    Business Development Assistant

    Job description

    Responsible for providing support to Business Development Managers in working with the partners to implement and manage business development campaigns and initiatives to win more work from existing clients and develop awareness of the opportunities available to bring in new clients in line with the Firm’s strategy.

    EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Completed Degree/Diploma in a relevant field required; and
    • At least 3 years specific experience in business development, client relationship management or a related field within a corporate, legal or professional services environment essential.

    JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Business Development Infrastructure (including supporting planning and strategy)
    • Support the development and implementation of innovative infrastructure systems to best support the BD activities of the firm;
    • Assisting with various BD activities that will support the practice groups/ sectors or clients in line with relevant BD plans;
    • Assisting with identifying and qualifying the need for various marketing collateral, and working with partners to draft relevant material; and
    • Identifying and drafting content for practice group or sector specific marketing material.
    • Client Relationship Management
    • Assist with the role-out and implementation of the firm-wide client development programme;
    • Assist with the implementation of core client development programmes at practice group/ sector levels; and
    • Act as a client account manager for some of the Firm’s key clients.
    • Campaigns / Initiatives and Projects
    • Co-ordinate and support BD initiatives, campaigns and projects in line with practice group and sector BD plans;
    • Liaise with the broader business development and marketing and communications team to deliver on relevant campaigns, initiatives and projects;
    • Assist with legal submissions (including directory and award submissions); and
    • Assist with research and logistics for conferences.
    • Research / Analysis
    • Prepare briefing notes in preparation of client meetings as a supporting tool to the partners / fee-earners attending the client meetings;
    • Undertake analysis to identify industry trends and developments, monitor competitor activity and identify potential opportunities; and
    • Research and analyse internal financial information ad key relationships on existing clients.
    • Reports
    • Provide assistance in the preparation of the monthly reports on new submissions and status changes for management board report.
    • Relationship Building
    • Develop and maintain relationships with all levels of staff as a trusted resource; and
    • Maintain strong working relationships with and have open and transparent communication between all members of the team.
