Product Sourcing Executive at Mr Price Group (MRPG)

mrpsport is recruiting a key member to join their Executive Management team.

The key purpose of the Product Sourcing Executive ( Resource Executive) is to lead our merchandise procurement process to ensure the mrpsport receives the best price and quality of garment on time and in full.

Your key responsibilities would include:

• Development and the implementation with your team of the procurement strategy for the sport division
• Leadership of your team which include Resourcers and Supply Chain who will support the execution of your overall objectives
• The success of this function relies on the strategic leadership of your suppliers. This includes: briefing Strategic suppliers with product development requirements for season ahead; working closely with the Merchants and your strategic suppliers to build libraries of fabric across the various product portfolios; begin program negotiations with suppliers; travelling to strategically source programs and new suppliers
• Overall management of the critical path to ensure your key objectives i.e. on time and full delivery is achieved. Tracking and the regular analysis of key data / reports to identify any opportunity areas.
• Compliance – ensuring that your strategic suppliers fulfill all compliance standards and regulations. Assisting in developing your suppliers where required.

The key requirements:

• Grade 12 with a relevant diploma/ degree in clothing production or fashion design
• Minimum 8 years of experience in production/clothing manufacturing, resourcing or buying
• At least 3 years of experience managing a team of subordinates
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of textiles and fabrics

• There will be international travel in this role. The suitable candidate would have no reservations around travelling internationally
