    Senior Originator

    Job description

    About The Role

    The Senior Originator reports directly to the Country Head South Africa and his/her primary role is to implement the sales strategy in the South African market and generate new business as well as maintain sound relationships to various business channels (brokers and clients). To achieve this goal he/she will establish and consolidate a working network of relationships within the South African market; generate business intelligence to identify new business opportunities and client needs and contribute to the company's brand visibility and recognition within South Africa. The role's primarily focus is to:

    • ensure that Corporate Solutions strategies & value propositions are communicated and pro-actively implemented to local brokers
    • maintain and enhance the brand profile of Corporate Solutions within the local market
    • represent full range of Corporate Solutions products and solutions (property, casualty, speciality) in the local market
    • help develop the local sales and underwriting strategy in collaboration with sales team and line underwriting teams
    • develop profiable new and exisitng business opportunities in the South African market
    • develop strong relationships with client representatives and senior management teams of broking houses, ensuring the value proposition of Corporate Solutions is understood.
    • represent Corporate Solutions at broker and industry events (in collaboration with the marketing communications team)

    About You

    • A relevant University degree
    • Enthusiasm and desire to think innovatively and creatively
    • Minimum of 10 years' experience in insurance company or broking firms
    • Strong team player and communicator
    • Persistent and skilled in following up on submissions and following through to achieve targets and/or complete initiatives successfully and timely
    • Fluent in English and Afrikaans
    • Track record in sales and new business origination
    • Excellent understanding of the corporate insurance market for the region, including key competitors, distribution channels, market trends and dynamics
