RCL FOODS is on the lookout to hire an enthusiastic & experienced Transport Manager to join our Sugar & Milling Division. This position would be based in Benoni, Johannesburg and will report to the Bakery Operations Manager.

The Transport Manager will be responsible to ensures that the total fleet of (+90 trucks) is maintained and in good running condition as well as ensuring effective fuel costs and the running of vehicles are kept to the desired optimum cost.

Minimum Requirements:

• 3 year national diploma in logistics, fleet and/or warehouse management.
• Valid Code EB drivers' license.
• A minimum of 5 years management experience in a similar environment.
• Key Deliverables:
• Oversee transportation department and all depots, including its assets and employees.
• Plan and implement budgets.
• Planning, Motivation and Implementing of Capex Replacements.
• Maintaining of Vehicle Asset Register.
• Sourcing of the most cost –effective parts and ensure on time delivery by securing reliable suppliers.
• Develop partnerships with outside suppliers.
• Daily recon of all fuel used and ensuring that our target fuel usage margins are maintained.
• Ensuring that all units are available for Distribution on a daily basis including spare units.
• Scheduling of all services and repairs.
• Lead all transportation planning and strategic activities to ensure on time deliveries and 100% fleet utilization.
• Identification and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities in the workshop and on routes.
• Weekly Depot visits and ensuring that the standard is maintained at Depot level.
• Ensuring that the workshop adheres to all Health and Safety Regulations.
• Ensuring that all drivers adhere to the National Road Traffic act, daily monitoring of speeding and misuse of any company vehicles.
• Daily and Monthly Tyre Stock Recons.
• Daily and Weekly Vehicle inspections and ensuring that all employee checklists is done and signed.
• Ensuring that all company pool vehicles are monitored and track all activities to ensure that they not being misused.
• Monthly Workshop Expenses breakdown and average cost per / km is calculated and monitored monthly.
