    Store Manager

    Job description

    Overview

    Are you passionate about retail and service excellence? Are you confident to lead a dispensary and front shop team to deliver a competitive advantage for the brand? An exciting and challenging opportunity has become available for a Retail Manager. The successful individual will be based at our V&A Waterfront Store and will report to the Regional Manager.

    Purpose and Objectives

    • To manage the efficient operations of the store and drive service excellence by leading and directing the pharmacy, clinic and frontshop teams to deliver high standards of pharmaceutical care and customer service in order to meet sales, profit and compliance targets, leading to a competitive advantage for the brand.
    • To assume full accountability for the stores profit and loss and to lead the pharmacy, clinic and frontshop teams in delivering financial performance in line with the stores financial targets.
    • To monitor store performance, identify and analyse trends, report on business performance and ensure appropriate actions are taken.
    • To deliver continuous business process improvements that improves operational execution and manages risk.
    • To implement store specific business opportunities to gain market differentiation that results in sales and profit growth through continuous competitor analysis.
    • To ensure competent and motivated employees, including learners and interns, through driving effective selection, leadership, management and on-going development in order to build capacity and capability to meet current and future business needs.
    • To drive a high performing business culture, consistency and integration between the pharmacy, clinic and frontshop that delivers employee affiliation, customer satisfaction and shareholder value.
    • To drive and monitor customer service initiatives and take corrective action that results in a great customer experience and achieves ClubCard participation targets.
    • To support and drive retention so as to sustain the staffing needs of the store with specific reference to scarce and critical skills and ensure consistent business performance.
    • To deliver adherence to HR policies and procedures that is aligned to corporate governance.
    • To support the Group’s vision to be the customer’s first choice health and beauty retailer by living and driving the company values.

    Education Requirement and Job Experience

    • Essential: B. Degree or Diploma (retail / finance management, pharmacy or related)
    • Minimum 5 years operational/pharmaceutical/store management experience with an annual turnover of at least R50 million
    • Extensive people management and leadership experience of junior management employees
    • Financial management experience (budgets, profit and loss statements, financial ratios, etc.)
