    Customer Service Agent

    Job description

    POSITION SUMMARY:
    An exciting opportunity exists for a Customer Service Agent of World Courier (WC) an AmerisourceBergen Company, based in the head office in Kempton Park - Johannesburg, South Africa.
    Reporting to the Customer Service Supervisor and the Operations Manager the Customer Service Agent will have the following key responsibilities:


    General

    • Handle all client enquiries received via phone, fax or email.
    • Provide all quotations via phone, fax and email.
    • Receive bookings via phone, fax, email & Customer Resource Centre (CRC) and update in the World-STAR system.
    • Monitor and track ongoing shipments.
    • Keep clients fully updated as to the status of their shipments, especially in regards to any delays.
    • Action and respond to all notes sent to individual World-STAR sign on.
    • Have full knowledge of how to use the internal systems including: World-STAR, Ops-STAR, Bio-STAR & Global Intranet.
    • Cold Chain Management Specific Tasks
    • Determine which shipping system should be used for any given cold chain shipment.
    • Enter clear pick up and special delivery instructions advising both origination and destination office on how the cold chain shipment should be managed.
    • Communicate any temperature results to the client as soon as the delivery has taken place after reviewing the results to check any deviations.
    • Comms Shift Specific Tasks
    • Action and/or distribute all emails received on the “Comms” PC.
    • Action and/or distribute all World-STAR notes received into the CSERV sign on.
    • Distribute faxes and ensure paper is loaded accordingly.
    • Run the missing POD report (World-STAR 1-68).

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Matric.
    • Experience in the logistics industry, preferably in specialty and/or healthcare industry.
    • Experience with client liaison.
    • Ability to learn and apply procedures and instructions.
    • Ability to take on projects at the request of management.
    • Good communication skills, both verbally and written.

    Good computer skills.

    • Flexible attitude for working shifts and last minute coverage.
    • High attention to detail.
    • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
