    Tester and Functional Support

    Job description

    OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB:

    To ensure that all releases are comprehensiely tested, meet the prescribed project standards and requirements and to proide specialist functional support on more complex processes and functionality for the Central Supplier Database application.

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:

    • System Testing (+- 60% of role)
    • Deelop and maintain test scripts adhering to project standards and quality guidelines;
    • Execute test scripts adhering to project standards and quality guidelines;
    • Ensure that release delierables adhere to project standards and are in line with existing system functionality and gien requirements;
    • Assist with user acceptance testing;
    • Define, deelop, and maintain testing quality standards and procedures according to best practice including user manuals, and training materials.
    • Make the necessary changes to procedures per specific release;
    • Reiew designs for moderate to complex programs;
    • Assist with the inestigation of user requests in order to determine and correct root cause of incidents;
    • Assist business / system analyst with definition and analysis of enhancements and new deelopments;
    • Work with users to define program and system requirements as required during System Testing phase;
    • Prepare complete system documentation in the testing and release phases of the system deelopment life cycle; and
    • Meet deadlines according to work plan, always maintaining defined quality standards and meeting expectations;
    • Work with other sections of the Operational Support Team and with the Application Maintenance Team to plan product performance and user acceptance tests for releases; and
    • Work effectiely as part of a team and seek to support the team’s goals.
    • Functional Support (+- 40% of role)
    • Keep up to date with the CSD functionality. Ensure that you hae a clear understanding of each functional release to support OCPO call centre, OoS Proincial support teams and/or OoS primary users;
    • Communicate/liaise with OCPO call centre, OoS Proincial support teams and/or OoS primary users ia email or telephone to assist with the resolution of more complex requests;
    • Deelop and facilitate outbound communication e.g. user satisfaction sureys, bulk email campaigns, status of requests and ad-hoc requests;
    • Build good relationhips with the CSD user community (more specific OCPO call centre, OoS Proincial support teams and/or OoS primary users) and other CSD project team members;
    • Ealuate deliery methods and ensure continuous improement i.e. by researching and sharing ideas on best practice pertaining to customer serice;
    • Maintain tasks on Team Foundation Serer (TFS);
    • Proide feedback to the other teams and make recommendations for changes/enhancements to CSD based on problem soling inestigations;
    • Work effectiely as part of a team and seek to support the team’s goals;
    • Ensure that releant feedback is gien to the first line (OCPO call centre, OoS Proincial support teams and OoS primary users) teams on solutions to enhance oerall serice deliery and shorten lead times;
    • Proide quick and efficient knowledge transfer to OCPO call centre, OoS Proincial support teams and/or OoS primary users either formally or informal;
    • On an ad-hoc basis formally present CSD related topics to OCPO call centre, OoS Proincial support teams and/or OoS primary users. Compile and maintain presentation material; and
    • Contribute to the FAQ database.
    • OTHER FEATURES OF THE JOB (e.g., location, traelling, shift hours, etc.):

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    KNOWLEDGE AND ATTRIBUTES / SKILLS:

    • Good understanding of testing methodologies and practices;
    • Ability to use selected test tools;
    • Good system testing and analytical skills with an understanding of the System Deelopment Life Cycle;
    • Well-deeloped telephone, interpersonal, relationship building and customer serice skills;
    • Probing, listening, problem soling, analytical skills;
    • Appropriate written communication skills with quality delierables;
    • Good working knowledge and understanding of goernment Procurement-to-Payment processes and functionality, with specialist knowledge of Supplier Management and System Administration or Procurement Integration;
    • PC skills (MS Office Suite);
    • Time Management;
    • Excellent oral communication skills;
    • Team player;
    • Self starter / innoatie and flexible and able to work well under pressure; and
    • Reliable and able to work without close superision.

    EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE NECESSARY:

    • An appropriate and recognised formal 3-year IT training (Diploma / Degree);
    • A minimum of 2 year releant experience (i.e. support and/or testing); and
    • Experience in Supply Chain Management an adantage.
