    Business Intelligence Support Specialist

    Job description

    Purpose of the role

    Provide support to the Business Intelligence (BI) team through:
    operational support and supervision of a team of BI Administrators,co-ordinating, investigating and providing timely feedback on incoming BI related queries received from across the Business and branch network,
    analysing and leveraging of management information/BI reports and cubes to support business questions,
    assisting in the on boarding of new BI personnel,
    ownership and delivery of operational processes currently managed by the BI team, including campaign management.

    Requirements

    • National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or National Certificate (Vocational)
    • At least 2 years’ experience in an operational administrative or reporting role and a relevant tertiary qualification (3 year degree) with majors in Information Management, Finance, Mathematics, or Computer Science
    • At least 2 years’ experience in requirements gathering and business analysis
    • A relevant post-graduate qualification (Honours / Masters) with majors in Information Management, Finance, Mathematics or Computer Science will be advantageous
    • Experience in, and understanding of, database structure design and data extraction principles
    • Minimum computer literacy required includes Advanced Excel, Advanced Word and SQL.
    • Ideal computer literacy required includes Qlikview, SAS or Visual Basic
    • Communication (verbal and written) in English
    • Numerical & mathematical skills
    • Team supervisory skills
    • Planning and organising skills including prioritizing work activities; setting goals and objectives, and managing internal client expectations.
    • Confident and enthusiastic self-starter who can take initiative
    • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team - balances team and individual responsibility, provides and accepts feedback
