Crime Liaison Officer at City of Cape Town

Requirements

•  Matric Certificate
•  Minimum of five (5) years’ operational experience in a policing environment, in particular in the field of Information Management/ Intelligence
•  Appointment / Eligible as a Peace Officer
•  Knowledge of the Criminal Procedure Act and related legislation.
•  Legal knowledge (Bill of rights / Criminal procedure Act, Labour Relations, Disciplinary Procedures and Arrest Procedures and the application of this knowledge)
•  Criminal Court and Council Disciplinary Hearing Procedures and strategies.
•  Knowledge of SAPS information management systems as it relates to collecting, analysing, verifying and disseminating information
•  Computer Literacy (Windows 10, Microsoft Access, Word, Excel and Outlook)
•  A valid driver’s license (Code B or EB)
•  No criminal record

Key Performance Areas

•  Rendering an effective and efficient information gathering function.
•  Manage and handle sources of information as per the City’s Rewards for Information or Tipp-Off Programme.
•  Maintain registers and records and draft Field Reports associated with operational functions e.g. security operations conducted.
•  Ensuring the successful dissemination of actionable crime information to key role players.
•  Managing training and skills development and transfer of skills and knowledge.
