    GIS Technical Assistant (Informal Settlements)

    Requirements

    •  Grade 12 or equivalent
    •  1  2 years relevant experience
    •  Valid Code EB driver’s licence

    Key Performance Areas

    •  Provision of technical support and information role for the Environmental Monitoring service delivery function in the field and in the District office, for the provision of routine technical & legal compliance evaluation, gives specifications and information at the Public counter and of the billing of illegal signage and operational needs of the District.
    •  Conducting field work & site data collection, capturing data to GIS or SAP;
    •  Assisting ECO with environmental, heritage & signage monitoring.
    •  Drafting minor technical reports;
    •  Checking technical aspects of diagrams or plans & conveying set
    •  alternatives as advice on by-law requirements.
    •  Checking technical specifications on minor plans, for legal & technical requirements & compliance.
    •  Managing the building of derived datasets by analysing and manipulating data.
    •  Managing the GPS datasets, analysing and manipulating data as needed.
    •  Providing basic information, with full knowledge of the applicable by law, relating to the one-stop shop function;
    •  Following map publication and design principles. Both line (vector)and images (raster)work to be included
    •  Performing a stakeholder regarding technical related procedures.

    Senior Professional Officer (Informal Settlements)

    Requirements

    •  Relevant B. degree or BTech
    •  7  8 years relevant experience, of which 5 years relevant supervisory included
    •  A valid Code EB driver’s licence.

    Key Performance Areas

    •  Establish a GIS data management function, in support of the City's Integrated Human Settlements Framework, which includes the capturing, forward planning, quality assurance, maintenance, and dissemination of the City's Informal Settlement Development Matrix
    •  Manage the design and implementation of processes for the acquisition and capturing of urbanisation spatial data
    •  Develop and establish processes to undertake the quality assurance of informal settlement base data
    •  Provide specialist spatial analysis advice and guidance to strategic City wide urbanisation initiatives
    •  Managing the building of derived datasets by analysing and manipulating data.
    •  Managing the GPS datasets, analysing and manipulating data as needed
    •  Establishing and overseeing the processes for the capturing of the  core datasets from various sources (aerial photography, GPS  surveys, Trimble surveys, field staff etc.)
    •  Facilitate participation of relevant stakeholders in the identification, development and adoption of spatial datasets and information in support of the Integrated Human Settlements Framework, and its supporting policies, guidelines and projects
    •  Manage the staff reporting to the incumbent

    Crime Liaison Officer

    Requirements

    •  Matric Certificate
    •  Minimum of five (5) years’ operational experience in a policing environment, in particular in the field of Information Management/ Intelligence
    •  Appointment / Eligible as a Peace Officer
    •  Knowledge of the Criminal Procedure Act and related legislation.
    •  Legal knowledge (Bill of rights / Criminal procedure Act, Labour Relations, Disciplinary Procedures and Arrest Procedures and the application of this knowledge)
    •  Criminal Court and Council Disciplinary Hearing Procedures and strategies.
    •  Knowledge of SAPS information management systems as it relates to collecting, analysing, verifying and disseminating information

    •  Rendering an effective and efficient information gathering function.

    •  Maintain registers and records and draft Field Reports associated with operational functions e.g. security operations conducted.
    •  Ensuring the successful dissemination of actionable crime information to key role players.
    •  Managing training and skills development and transfer of skills and knowledge.

    Professional Officer - Land Use management

    Requirements

    •  A relevant B Tech or B Degree;
    •  A minimum of 2 - 5 years’ relevant experience;
    •  Sound working knowledge of SPLUMA, LUPA, City of Cape TownMPBL and DMS and other related legislation and policies;
    •  Professional registration with the South African Council forPlanners (SACPLAN);
    •  Computer literacy (particularly in SAP/DAMS and MS Office);and
    •  A valid Code B driver’s licence.

    Key Performance Areas

    •  Providing advice to applicants and developers with regard toland-use development applications, including policy contextand interpretation as well as operational requirements;
    •  Facilitating the processing and assessing of land-usedevelopment applications within a district office, ensuring thattimeframes and protocols are adhered to;
    •  Assisting with and commenting on the development andmaintenance of land-use management or planning policiesand operational requirements to ensure continuously improvedservice delivery; and
    •  Report writing and managing an extensive caseload.
