    Lead Maintenance Planner

    Your mission

    • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment through compliance with legal regulations and mill procedure (e.g., OHS Act, ISO systems)
    • Support the planning department to comply in all respects with the relevant regulations by implementing the necessary control measures
    • Management of individual development plan
    • Planning team performance management as per KPIs
    • Input to training and development matrix for the department
    • Coach, mentor and train junior planners
    • Shutdown and day to day maintenance planning leadership
    • Development and maintain Mill High Level and Detail Level schedules on Primavera and or MS Projects
    • Compile progress tracking reports and flag schedule risks and identify mitigation plans for planning and scheduling risks to management
    • Assist in developing planning and scheduling principles and guidelines
    • Ensure standard planning and scheduling methodology is followed across the Mill
    • Involvement with critical work scoping, planning and scheduling
    • Involvement with Work Execution review, e.g. job cards quality of data, e.g. hrs., history, to improve the system
    • Shut readiness e.g. Work pack readiness, contents including quality control plans, spares, risks etc.
    • Stand-in for the dept manager

    Your profile

    • National Diploma in Engineering or related equivalent qualification 
    • MDP or relevant management qualifications would be considered advantages
    • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, or a related role
    • 3 years’ experience in a supervisory or people management position
    • Proven experience in shutdown planning and scheduling, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment
    • Experience in SAP as a CMMS platform
    • Experience in scheduling via Primavera and / or MS Projects

    Mechanical Technician

    Your mission:

    • Holding the responsibility of the technical expert of plant machinery, from the mechanical perspective
    • Managing the compliance and execution of all mechanical statutory requirements in the assigned plant
    • Providing technical support (in terms of data, information, etc.) to the maintenance execution team
    • The execution of more complex maintenance activities, including the management of contractors required for these activities
    • The role shall serve as the first call on break-down events to support the problem diagnosis and advise the maintenance execution team on appropriate corrective action
    • Troubleshooting – understand and utilise technical drawings, P&ID’s, etc. for fault finding on plant problems
    • Ensure adherence to engineering standards by the team during maintenance execution
    • The role shall provide support to the planning department on routine maintenance and shut-down activities from a technical perspective
    • Management of repairable and non-repairable spare parts as per the RACI definition of the process procedure, such as quality check activities, etc
    • Management of specific maintenance service contracts in the plant
    • Analysis and ownership of actions arising from equipment condition-based monitoring reports (including scoping of work). Collaboration with condition-monitoring team from this perspective
    • Management of operational risk arising from equipment defects and faults (‘mill equipment risk list’)
    • Identify and implement small-scope improvement projects and initiatives from a technical design perspective with the intention on improving service life
    • Auditing of the quality of service received by the Central Maintenance Services department
    • Auditing of the quality of maintenance performed by centralised maintenance execution (hydraulics and rolls)
    • Maintaining the required condition of plant and equipment
    • Direct support and management (setting the standard) of the quality of maintenance execution in the plant
    • Management of the plant technical documentation as per the RACI definition of the process procedure
    • Support the Maintenance Manager in ensuring compliance to all mill asset care procedures (with specific reference to Work Order, Technical Change and Shutdown Management processes)
    • Support the central Engineering department during appropriate technical processes (for example, RCFA investigations)
    • Support the central Engineering department through the identification of improvement potential and sources of loss
    • Support the central Engineering department in the development of applicable Engineering Standards for the mill

    Your profile:

    • National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
    • Minimum NQF level 6
    • 3 to 5 years within the maintenance / engineering function in a heavy industry environment – pulp and paper, steel processing, mining, etc
    • 1 to 3 years in the role of mechanical technician within this environment would be advantageous
    • Experience in the application of the following core engineering processes:
    • Maintenance quality management
    • Shutdown management and task execution
    • Budgeting and cost management
    • Contractor management
    • Fault-finding and troubleshooting (application of problem-solving techniques & tools)

    Mechanical Supervisor

    Your mission:

    • Supervise all aspects of the team’s health, safety, environmental and quality requirements
    • Ensure cost effective team operations by allocating resources, prioritizing work and maximizing plant availability
    • Foster and maintain customer and supplier relations
    • Implement team KPI’s that are aligned to the departmental plan   
    • Technical team support in shared maintenance activities
    • Allocate team resources to areas where required to ensure optimum availability and efficiency of equipment
    • Deliver weekly and monthly maintenance team reports
    • Effective team supervision of the CMS workshop team

    Your profile:

    • Matric plus N4 (Supervisory Management)
    • Mechanical Trade Certificate
    • National Diploma (Pulp & Paper) advantageous
    • 5 years’ experience in a heavy industry environment
    • 1 – 2 Years leadership experience would be advantageous
    • Experience within the Pulp & Paper industry and relevant equipment advantageous
