    Health Care Worker (Mafikeng)

    Work Description

    • Assists with the accurate data processing of paper records into an electronic format that facilitates data review and analysis. Assist with filing administration system effectively in keeping and retrieving files and documents organised for the company. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for providing patient literacy, tracing (patient reminder system) and/or counselling and testing.

    Technical Work Responsibilities

    • Filing and retrieving patient files, filing lab results
    • Capturing the data accurately from paper forms into a project specific database according to Aurum specific guidelines
    • Verifies data from paper forms with data already captured on the electronic database
    • Supports the data management team in all data management functions
    • Adheres to all data management SOP’s, guidelines and confidentiality agreements
    • Implements a filing system for study-related case report forms and other documentation.
    • Tele and/or physical tracing of index contacts missed appointments.

    Work Description

    • The Lay Counsellor is responsible for providing HIV/AIDS testing and counselling. The Lay Counsellor also renders psychosocial support counselling and continued adherence support for participants.

    Technical Work Responsibilities

    Social Worker Auxiliary (Cape Town)

    Description
    Work Description

    • The role of the sub-district social auxiliary worker is to provide social support services to TB patients in need. This includes provision of care, support, protection and development of people with TB, their families and communities affected by TB through relevant programs. This position requires a good understanding of the Department of Social Development legislative mandate, policies and progammes, the Batho Pele principles and knowledge of the social services network at district level.

    Technical Work Responsibilities

    • Provide assistance and support to social workers with the rendering of a social
    • work service about the care, support, protection and development of
    • vulnerable individuals, groups, families and communities.
    • Assist social workers to attend to any other matters that could result in, or stem from social instability in any form.
    • Perform administrative support functions in support of social workers as required.
    • Assess the TB clients’ needs, situations, strengths, and support networks to determine goals and appropriate interventions. 
    • Ensuring that all client files, and other records, comply with policies, regulations, and procedures.
    • Under guidance of a social worker make recommendations on the best course of action for a client and/or family.
    • Monitor referrals to ensure that TB clients access services or support they have been referred to.
    • Provide progress reports in sub district meetings.
    • Report daily or weekly to the district level SR supervisor, or as per organizations policies and procedure.
    • Submit monthly activity reports as per workplan to the district level SR supervisor and sub district TB/ HAST manager.

    Requirements
    Education

    • Grade 12
    • Completion of the learnership to allow registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) as Social Auxiliary Worker
    • Social Auxiliary Worker qualification.
    • Current registration with the SACSSP as a Social Auxiliary Worker

    Requirements

    • Experience in administration, group work and case management
    • At least 3 years’ experience working as a Social Auxiliary Worker in the Public Sector 
    • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changes.

    Data Capturer (Cape Town)

    Description
    Job Purpose

    • The Data Capturer will work with facilities and will ensure that key data quality dimensions such as validity, reliability, integrity, precision, timeliness, accuracy, worth, completeness, confidentiality and ethics are met for all data collected at facility and community levels. This position will contribute to the development and maintenance of the high standard of data collected and reported and assists with conducting routine data quality assessment (RDQA) or data quality audit. The Data capturer will work closely with M&E officers, Data Quality monitors, managers, Quality improvement advisors, QI officers and district health information managers to provide oversight and technical support on improving data quality to facility and community level staff as well as data capturers through facility level supervision and support visits, capacity building and data quality assurance.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Experience in capturing data in electronic databases, Health related is an added advantage.
    • Fully computer literate (proficient working knowledge of MS office, including databases)

    Requirements
    Level of education

    • Grade 12
    • Post Matric Diploma/Degree Qualification will be an added advantage.
    • Previous Exposure in HIV/AIDS and TB Prevention programmes (added advantage)

    Job requirement and work experience

    • 2 years data capturing experience.
    • 2 years office work experience
    • Experience of working on DCXR containers or trucks
