    Visual Presentation Manager - Truworths Coastal Operations

    Job Description    

    • Responsible for windows and in store merchandise presentation in the Coastal Operations zone
    • Direct reports: Display management team in the Western and Eastern Cape
    • Indirect reports to Merchandisers: 10
    • Indirect reports: Approximately 30-35 window dressers
    • Includes operational management of all window dressers and managers / supervisors
    • Strong focus on MBP. Managing of merchandising standards in stores in the Coastal Operations zone. This includes: Cape Town, Namibia, Northern Cape, George, Port Elizabeth and East London
    • Managing of window display standards in stores in the above areas and the maintenance thereof
    • Provide assistance with merchandising principles
    • Head office communications related to MBP (Merchandise Based Principles) and windows
    • Formulating display structures
    • Interaction with operational management
    • Control of company assets and expenses
    • Responsible for budget input and expense control thereof
    • Ensure that staff adheres to policies and procedures
    • Conducting performance appraisals with staff
    • HR functions – ER, Recruitment & Training and Development
    • Coaching of store staff and direct reports
    • Responsible for a large geographical area as noted above

    Qualifications and Experience    

    • 5-10 years visual display experience
    • Previous experience in managing and leading a large team
    • Previous experience in MBP
    • Strong coaching ability
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

    Sourcing Coordinator

    Job Description

    • Truworths has an exciting opportunity for a Sourcing Coordinator that has strong fashion, administration and travel experience to source innovative and adventurous product abroad.

    Key Responsibilities    

    • Responsible for the fast and cost effective purchase of finished goods
    • Negotiating prices and delivery dates
    • Building relationships with Suppliers and Manufacturers
    • Understand the workmanship involved and able to suggest options to change fabric and construction
    • Disciplined to ensure critical path is met
    • Attention to detail as briefs need to be accurately executed, PLM System needs to be up to date
    • Trader instinct to ensure growth of the portfolio
    • Negotiation skills – able to negotiate prices and find win-win situations between Buyer and supplier pertaining to styling changes

    Qualifications and Experience    

    • Previous experience in working and communicating directly with overseas suppliers
    • Strong administrative including strong written communication skills
    • Computer literate
    • Experience in working in a Manufacturing (or similar) background would be preferred
    • Previous experience managing a Sourcing Assistant
    • Has travelling experience and is able to travel abroad

    Forklift Operator

    Key Responsibilities    

    • Operate the lifting equipment to move stock around the warehouse. Operate the equipment in a safe and controlled manner. Assist with the loading and unloading of any trucks, trailers and / or containers. Ensure that all materials moved is stored / stacked in the appropriate manner as prescribed in our SOPs. Daily inspection of equipment and perform minor preventative maintenance. Taking ownership of the assigned equipment to ensure that it is maintained and used in an appropriate manner. Manually load or unload stock on pallets, skids, platforms or lifting devices. Ensure equipment is returned to the designated location. When not operating the lifting equipment you may be assigned to any other distribution duties as required by the supervisor or manager. Oversee the export cage. Attend to the reject spurs.

    Qualifications and Experience    

    • Matric or equivalent qualification would be advantageous Ideally a valid / appropriate material moving equipment license. Proven track record in successfully operating a forklift in an around a DC. Extensive experience in operating Reach truck at 13,5m heights (Traceable references)
