    Investment Analyst, NAM-H2 Fund Managers (12m fixed term contract)

    The role will chiefly be responsible for: 

    Investment Analysis

    • Implement and maintain the documentation management system, including all relevant due diligence and project content
    • Implement processes associated with compliance, governance and internal approvals such as KYC and anti-money laundering checks
    • Conduct due diligence on potential investments
    • Perform financial due diligence and analysis on prospective projects
    • Support investment team across all facets of deal activity and process life cycles
    • Financial analysis of potential financing structures
    • Preparation of reports and information memoranda and prospectus presentation to current and potential investors on specific investments
    • Evaluating prospective projects based on the fund’s investment policy and mandate
    • Prepare and maintain project finance-based financial models for investments including return analysis, investment value drivers, sensitivity analyses, and refinancing and exit scenarios
    • Financial analysis of potential financing and investment structures
    • Liaising with fund managers, company managers, external legal, financial, tax and technical advisors to execute and/or monitor an investment
    • Conducting market research on the industry and gather market intelligence to support investment strategies and or assessment of investment opportunities
    • Drafting MOUs, joint development agreements and investment term sheets.
    • Preparation of investment proposals for the investment committee
    • Liaising with fund managers, company managers, external legal, financial, tax and technical advisors to execute and/or monitor an investment
    • Conducting market research on the industry and gather market intelligence to support investment strategies and or assessment of investment opportunities
    • Manage processes associated with compliance, governance and internal approvals in compliance with relevant regulations.
    • Any other ad-hoc duties as may be assigned

    Qualifications, Experience & Skillset

    Required 

    • A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in commerce or finance
    • A Post- Graduate Degree would be preferred
    • 2 – 3 years experience in relevant field
    • Experience in Private Equity, Investment Banking or M&A advisory
    • Advanced Excel skills
    • Advanced financial modelling skills
    • Project Finance skills
    • Infrastructure experience
    • Excellent knowledge of financial markets and instruments
    • Good working knowledge of key commercial statutes and regulations
    • Ability to work independently as well as in a team

    Investment Associate

    Job Purpose

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    The role will chiefly be responsible for: 

    • Performing financial due diligence and analysis on prospective projects
    • Support investment team across all facets of deal activity and process life cycles
    • Evaluating prospective projects based on the fund’s investment policy and mandate
    • Prepare and maintained project finance-based financial models for investments including return analysis, investment value drivers, sensitivity
    • Analyses, and refinancing and exit scenarios
    • Financial analysis of potential financing and investment structures
    • Preparation of reports and information memoranda and prospectus
    • Presentation to potential and current investors on specific investments
    • Developing and negotiating investment agreements and equity
    • Documents including joint development agreements; shareholders
    • Agreements; equity instruments (ordinary shares; preference shares;
    • shareholder loans; mezzanine instruments).
    • Drafting MOUs, joint development agreements and investment term
    • Carrying out due diligence on potential investments
    • Preparation of investment proposals for the investment committee
    • Liaising with fund managers, company managers, external legal, financial, tax and technical advisors to execute and/or monitor an investment
    • Conducting market research on the industry and gather market
    • intelligence to support investment strategies and or assessment of investment opportunities
    • Participating in financial briefing provided by the investment managers, internally and externally.
    • Manage processes associated with compliance, governance and internal approvals in compliance with relevant regulations.
    • Any other ad-hoc duties as may be assigned

    Qualifications, Experience & Skillset

    Required 

    • Must possess a Bachelors Degree in business or commerce, finance
    • Post Graduate degree preferred
    • Advanced excel skills

    • Excellent knowledge of financial markets and instruments

    ESG Manager, NAM-H2 Fund Managers (12m fixed term contract)

    Job Purpose

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    The role will chiefly be responsible for: 

    Investment support for CI3 Namibia:

    • E&S due diligence of deals in accordance with CFM processes including site visits.
    • Project development phase tasks relating to IFC-compliant environmental and social impact assessments (ESIAs) and other specialist studies.
    • Management of third party consultants and advisors including competence with preparation of scopes of work; evaluation of proposals; selection and appointment of consultants; coordination of consultant activities; technical review of reports.
    • Attendance at meetings, liaison with project partners, provision of project-related advice and guidance for E&S management.
    • Project governance and management (including preparation of or contribution to documents as required, participation in project management meetings, management committee meetings).
    • Preparation of content for investment papers, and attendance and presentation as required at investment committee meetings.
    • Support with the development and implementation of project-specific Community Development Programmes.
    • Management of the impact objectives and outcomes of each investment through application of the CI3 Fund’s impact theory of change and results measurement framework.

    Performance Monitoring, Reporting and Evaluation

    • Compilation, review and validation of ESG performance and impact reporting data and preparation of content for internal and external reports.
    • Audits and inspections of projects during construction and operation and preparation of corrective improvement plans and reports.
    • Provision of technical advice and support to project companies to assist them in the management of environmental and social risks in accordance with CFM requirements.

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Effective liaison with governmental and non-governmental organisations and management of communications on matters of an environmental and social nature.
    • Collaborative engagement with project company environmental, health and safety and social team staff on an ongoing basis.

    Qualifications, Experience & Skillset

    Required 

    • A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline such as environmental sciences, environmental engineering, ecology, social sciences.
    • 8-10 years’ experience in environmental and social management (consulting, industry or project finance).
    • Experience and practical knowledge of the environmental and social risks of industrial processes including chemicals, energy, water treatment, either through time spent in industry or through consultancy-type assignments.
    • Excellent knowledge of the Namibian regulatory environment and the contextual environmental and social risks including those related to chemicals, energy and water treatment.
    • Excellent knowledge and practical application of the IFC Performance Standards and other international standards for environmental and social management.
    • Experience in project development, construction and/or operating asset management.
    • Basic understanding of occupational health and safety risk management.
    • Technically proficient (advanced) in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
    • Fluent written and oral English language.
    • Capable of maintaining a high degree of effectiveness in a multitask role, managing priorities and delivering to challenging timescales.
    • Both a self-starter and a team player.
    • Ability to build and improve effective internal working relationships at all levels in order to secure best solutions.
