    Associate Consultant - Healthcare

    In order to further augment our dynamic team we seek an Associate Consultant to lead a team of healthcare analysts in project engagements in the areas of market opportunity assessment, go-to-market strategy, customer insights, channel optimization strategy and competitive benchmarking.

    How you will contribute:

    • Serve as the client engagement and project lead, including communicating project updates, presenting key milestones, pre-empting project issues, managing different client stakeholders.
    • Lead a team of healthcare analyst across all types of project engagements in the MedTech & Life Sciences healthcare industry in the areas of market opportunity assessment, go-to-market strategy, customer insights, channel optimization strategy and competitive benchmarking
    • Mentor and guide analysts and senior analysts, ensuring that they meet their performance goals and successfully grow their careers
    • Appraise and develop team of analysts, including helping to train and develop the necessary skill sets they need to succeed as a healthcare business consultant

    The ideal skills for this role are:

    • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in business consulting
    • Proven track record in project management and client handling, in the healthcare sector or in business consulting
    • Master's degree from top tier universities, preferably Science major, with an MBA
    • Knowledge of, or background in, healthcare, medtech, or IVD industries is a plus
    • Exceptional command of written and spoken English
    • Highly analytical self starter, organized with meticulous consulting skills
    • Excellent client facing skills, with the ability to motivate teams and work well with people across all levels in the organization
    • High business acumen with versatility to strategize, and think inside and outside of the box
    • Ability to work independently and among teams, in a fast paced team structure
    • Superior communication skills
    • Highly self-aware, flexible and focused on solutions

    Senior Sub-editor

    Currently we are seeking a senior sub editor to work on a range of print and electronic products within the Country Publishing division.

    Accountabilities

    How you will contribute:

    • Oversee Subedit operations in Johannesburg, influencing editorial standards and driving quality and excellence across teams and products
    • Manage the Risk Briefing product, enforcing high standards and timeliness, resolving problems and anticipating bottlenecks
    • Ensure metadata tagging is consistent and error-free
    • Ensure that content is being updated regularly on the EIU websites by performing quality checks
    • Influencing change to streamline processes
    • Train and mentor new analysts and junior subeditors
    • Subediting for grammar, punctuation, spelling, consistency, relevance and accuracy, in compliance with house style and according to deadlines
    • Resolving ambiguous passages in conjunction with editors
    • Checking internal consistency of statistical data, and that all content has been duly updated

    Experience, skills and professional attributes

    The ideal skills for this role are:

    • A degree or equivalent (ideally in English, Political Science, Politics, Economics, International Relations or a related subject)
    • Minimum 5 years' work experience in a subeditor role
    • International commercial exposure within a publishing environment
    • An interest in, or basic understanding of, macroeconomics, politics and international affairs
    • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
    • Exceptional knowledge and use of English language and grammar
    • Highly numerate
    • Strong IT skills
    • An ability to learn and understand complex processes involving Word and Excel templates and proprietary EIU publishing
    • Solid experience working with HTML tagged data
    • An ability to work autonomously and effectively under pressure
    • Organised and able to prioritise
    • A strong sense of initiative
    • Team spirit
    • An inquisitive nature
