    Senior BIM Modeller - Rail Design

    Job Description

    • The Senior BIM Modeller - Rail Design applies knowledge within an area to a project to solve straightforward problems and is also able to apply that knowledge to typical solutions.

    Here is what you will do:

    • Apply knowledge within an area to a project to solve straightforward problems and also apply that knowledge to typical situations
    • Work independently and collaboratively with moderate level of guidance
    • Have work regularly reviewed by supervisors and more senior team members
    • Contribute within an area of knowledge on a project, solving a range of straightforward problems, and applying that knowledge to atypical assignments
    • Analyse and apply solutions to typical issues within area of expertise within a sub-group or team within their function, business unit or technical discipline, using standard operating procedures/methodologies as a basis
    • Create and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for rail infrastructure projects
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure model accuracy and integration
    • Implement BIM standards and best practices throughout the project lifecycle
    • Assist in developing custom families and content for rail-specific elements
    • Participate in clash detection and resolution processes

    Here's what we're looking for:

    • 3 Years' + experience with modelling software in an engineering environment
    • An advanced user in Autodesk Revit Software (Buildings) / Autodesk Civil 3D (Civils), or similar, who can draw/model with limited supervision having the ability to create content within a specific discipline
    • Must also be an advanced user in other Rail Design specific software
    • Proficiency in generating 2D drawings from 3D models
    • Experience with point cloud data and laser scanning technology
    • Ability to interpret and apply relevant standards and regulations in rail design
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12 / Matric certificate
    • 2 years ITI Diploma in Drafting or 3 years Diploma in Engineering (preferable)
    • BIM certification (preferable)

    Job Description

    Here's what you will do:

    • The BIM Modeller, performs routine, structured work in a required discipline and demonstrates ability to take on more complex tasks
    • Works under direct supervision performing moderately complex technical work utilizing instructions, drawings, sketches and results from computer systems and schematics.
    • May be involved in training and supervising technical personnel.
    • May perform some data entry.
    • Routine/repeated tasks accomplished within assistance
    • Receives guidance or direction from others with limited discretion to vary from established procedures
    • Contributes by performing routine, structure work assignments in specific job function, expanding complexity of tasks performed

    Engineer - Electrical

    Job Description

    • We are looking to fill the position of a Electrical Engineer to join our electrical engineering unit, forming part of a multi-disciplinary consulting engineering team. The company undertakes large capital projects for various clients, across many sectors.
    • The Engineer is responsible for developing designs through various project stages, undertakes coordination and carries out design documentation while working as part of the project team. Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment as an experienced engineer. Guides Candidate Engineers, provides design input to the CAD/BIM technicians, and works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and tests.
    • Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
    • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
    • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
    • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
    • Identifies discrepancies in results.

    Technical Excellence:

    • Develops designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and project BIM models as per specific discipline requirement.

    • Power Metering specification and interface to Energy / Building Management Systems.
    • Cable Routing Design
    • Cable Sizing Calculations
    • Lighting Calculations, modelling and layouts.
    • Earthing Risk Assessments, earthing system design, Earthing layouts.
    • Specification of Electrical Equipment including, Switchgear, Distribution Boards, Motor Control Centres, Transformers, , UPS’s, Cables, Lighting, etc.
    • Specification of Construction Standards of installation.
    • Client Relationship Management:
    • Begins to participate in client meetings to discuss project requirements, explain/defend work, etc.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor or Master of Science or Engineering from an accredited University.
    • 4+ Years' experience after obtainment of Qualification
    • Registered as a Candidate Engineer with ECSA

    Digital Solutions Governance Manager

    Job Summary:

    • AECOM is seeking a Digital Solutions Governance Manager to play a critical role in establishing, maintaining, and enhancing the organization's governance framework to ensure strategic alignment, optimize resource utilization, manage risk, and promote transparency and accountability across various business functions. This role leads a small team responsible for key governance pillars, facilitates critical cross-functional collaboration, and serves as the primary liaison between business lines and a central Governance Council.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Team Leadership and Management (3 Direct Reports):

    • Budget & Planning Analyst:
    • Oversee the development, monitoring, and reporting of departmental and project budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and financial prudence.
    • Guide the analysis of spending patterns, identifying opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency.
    • Approve budget proposals and provide financial insights to the Governance Council.
    • Software Rationalization Specialist:
    • Direct the ongoing inventory, assessment, and optimization of the organization's software application portfolio.
    • Guide efforts to identify redundancies, consolidate applications, and recommend retirement or replacement strategies to reduce costs and complexity.
    • Oversee the development of roadmaps for application modernization and simplification.
    • License Management & Analytics Specialist:
    • Lead the management of all software and service licenses, ensuring compliance with vendor agreements and optimizing license utilization.
    • Guide the collection and analysis of license data to identify cost savings opportunities, mitigate compliance risks, and support strategic procurement decisions.
    • Oversee the implementation and management of license management tools and processes.
    • Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management to direct reports, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
    • Ensure clear communication of goals, expectations, and priorities within the team.
    • Governance Framework & Policy:
    • Develop, implement, and continuously improve the organization's governance policies, procedures, and frameworks.

    • Identify, assess, and monitor governance-related risks across the organization.
    • Collaborate with relevant teams (e.g., Legal, Compliance, Audit) to ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations.
    • Implement risk mitigation strategies and controls within the governance framework.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field.
    • 8 years of progressive experience in governance, operations, finance, or IT management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role with direct reports.
    • Proven experience in developing and implementing governance frameworks and policies.
    • Strong understanding of budgeting, financial planning, software lifecycle management, and license management principles.
    • Demonstrated ability to facilitate complex discussions and drive consensus among diverse stakeholders, including senior leadership.
    • Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
