MAIN PURPOSE

Manage the Technical configuration function of all customer solution build, activation and provisioning activities in Enterprise Technology in support of Vodacom Business (VB).

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND DECISION OWNERSHIP

• Define, implement and maintain an on-going build, activation and provisioning strategy to effect the technical configuration of Vodacom Business Customer Services, which takes account of both best practices and operating requirements that is aligned with the product and service, and business strategy of Vodacom Business (VB).
• Manage relationships and contracts with suppliers of tools, systems, applications and Vodacom in any aspect of the Provisioning function.
• Engage customers and represent Vodacom regarding any aspect of the Provisioning function.
• Manage (compile and own) the budget for the Provisioning function.
• Develop the business rationale of any Project Office initiative and present to strategic management level, inclusive of business cases, motivations, and budget formulation.
• Represent Vodacom on different forums related to the Provisioning function.
• To own all Provisioning Programmes related to the successful implementation of Managed Services technology platforms, Operational / Business Support Systems, products / service development and customer solutions deployment.
• To ensure availability and continuous revision of Enterprise Technology Provisioning processes and methodology.
• To develop a framework for the Provisioning execution in accordance with best practices and international standards.
• To communicate Provisioning practice performance.

Essential Technical / Professional Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification (National Diploma or degree) in a technical or science discipline is essential.
• A tertiary qualification in Electronic or Computer Engineering, or Information or Computer Science would be preferable
• A postgraduate management qualification would be preferable.

Experience

• At least 8-10 years in the information and telecommunications industry, of which at least 5 years in a service provider business, with 5 years in a line management position.
• Minimum of 3 years (essential), preferred at least 5 years, experience in a Service Provider technical configuration application environment.
• 2 years’ experience in the planning and roll-out of IP-based platforms, systems, or services will be a significant advantage (desirable).
