    Data Analyst

    Job description

    Data analysis management and planning, to optimise business growth, profitability and customer experience. To generate sufficient applications of the right quality to meet production objectives.

    Requirements

    • BCom or BSc degree with finance / maths / statistics background or Postgrad degree with finance / maths / statistics
    • 2 -3 years - Data analyst in the financial industry or similar industry
    • 2-3years - MIS Experience, SQL , Advanced excel skills
    • 2-3years - Applying mathematics/formulas to real-world problems

    Duties and responsibilites

    • Creates solutions to meet customer demands
    • Reviews, improves and implements customer service solutions in line with company policies, shared values and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) outcomes.
    • Communicates how the customer service solution will be implemented and secures buy-in.
    • Builds customer trust and loyalty.
    • Resolves customer dissatisfaction/complaints and takes ownership of the problem.
    • Ensures customer excellence through interaction with internal and external customers throughout all business activities
    • Adheres to the Organisation's shared values, service standards and Treating Customer Fairly (TCF) outcomes with regard to customer interaction.
    • Resolves customer dissatisfaction/complaints and takes ownership of the problem.
    • Ensures that product knowledge and advice is technically accurate.
    • Knows and understands customer needs in order to deliver a quality service.
    • Plans for and maintains a sound working relationship with stakeholders.
    • Ensures continuous process improvement to enable effective operational processes
    • Implements business processes according to benchmarks and the Shared Values.
    • Reviews and reports on the performance of business processes.
    • Analyses the internal service delivery processes and comes up with innovative ideas and/or participates in working groups to improve and streamline processes, increase revenue, drive efficiencies and minimise redundancy and waste.
    • Monitors and controls the quality of business processes in terms of defined standards
    • Mines, queries and analyses data sets
    • Queries, cleans and mines large data sets, connecting data from disparate sources to identify insights and patterns.
    • Conducts statistical analysis, such as linear and logistic regression, time-series analysis, and classification models and delivers accurate and high quality analysis (e.g. NPV modelling, test design and analysis, risk modelling).
    • Applies company, group and relevant industry knowledge to analysis and insights.
    • Develops improved methodologies and methods for accessing, analysing and presenting data: researches new data sources and analytical tools with the aim of improving the process and underlying data analysis.
    • Ensures the quality of data is accurately measured, tracked and reported on and that the appropriate level of documentation is kept according to prescribed requirements.
    • Focus on ensuring quality application targets are delivered
    • Past performance by campaign, by month including variance reporting and trends
    • Segmentation & Campaign workflows
    • Sizing of opportunities including future forecasting
    • ROI optimisation including segmentation, frequency
    • Understanding and explaining variances
    • Responsible to apply future forecasting at a channel level and distribution of applications
    • Manage risks relating to data analysis processes
    • Document management
    • Version control, change sizing & reporting
    • Performs statistical analysis to inform business decisions
    • Sources, extracts, collates, cleans and redesigns relevant data.
    • Analyses, interprets and transforms raw data into meaningful and useful information.
    • Produces management information and business summaries to enable more effective strategic, tactical, and operational insights and decision-making.
    • Ensures that process conforms to business objectives and complies with Group and various regulatory parameters.
    • Conducts trend analysis
    • Conducts and report trend analysis for area of responsibility to identify process breakdowns in terms of operational risk.
    • Response & risk band optimisation
    • Challenge Risk strategies to maximise yield on Customer selections
    • Motivate alternatives to improve yield
    • Reporting and presenting of data analysis relating to campaign performance
    • Participates in planned activities that are appropriate for own development
    • Identifies effective activities to address own development gaps.
    • Creates own development plan and reviews plan with manager.
    • Understands which competencies and skills should be mastered to ensure personal development and performance.
