    Head of Faculty Applied Psychology

    SACAP is looking for a Head of the Applied Psychology Faculty for our Academic department based at Head Office. The Head of Faculty: Applied Psychology is a senior academic officer of SACAP College, who will be responsible for carrying the overall responsibility for the growth of the Applied Psychology Faculty, as well as the quality of all programmes that fall within the Faculty. The Head of Faculty is a content expert within their field and oversees all curriculum development and amendments for programmes within their faculty. The successful incumbent will work with the Deputy Dean to ensure accountability for all regulatory requirements of the CHE, SAQA, the DHET and all professional bodies relevant to the Faculty; simultaneously working alongside the campus Academic team members in order to ensure the quality of programme delivery on each campus. He/ she seeks to network extensively within the Public and Private Higher Education sector nationally and internationally in order to expand the academic reputation of SACAP.

    The candidate will be required to perform various functions that would

    include:

    • Faculty Strategy & Leadership
    • Programme Development & Oversight
    • Working with the relevant Regulatory Bodies
    • Quality Assurance
    • Teaching, Scholarship & Research
    • General

    Qualification & Experience:

    • A PhD in Psychology, preferably with a Master’s in Counselling, Educational or Clinical Psychology.
    • Experience in Academic Leadership in Higher Education.
    • Experience in Curriculum Design and Quality Assurance.
    • Expert content knowledge.
    • Strategic & growth orientated.
    • Excellent interpersonal & written communication skills.
    • Ability to lead, direct, manage & motivate.
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Strong administrative & organizational skills.
