    Launch Co-Ordinator

    JOB SUMMARY

    • The primary responsibility is overseeing the build of prototype models, specifically focusing on catamarans (both sailing and power-driven). The position involves managing the transition of new products from the design phase to production, ensuring safety, quality, manufacturing efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

    ABOUT OUR CLIENT   

    • Our Client is a prominent player in the Marine Industry based in Cape Town, South Africa. They specialising in the design and manufacture of sailing and power catamarans. Renowned for their performance, durability, and seaworthiness, the Client's vessels are highly sought after by both private owners and charter companies.

       
    THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
    In order to be shortlisted for vacancy, the successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies, but not limited to:

    • Minimum qualification: Matric (NQF 4); ideally a diploma in Engineering (NQF 6).
    • 2-4 years of engineering or design experience in boat building.
    • Knowledge of software like SolidWorks and AutoCAD, with strong problem-solving and project management skills.
    • Must be computer literate
    • Must understand the boatbuilding process 
    • Strong stakeholder management, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business environments.

    JOB DESCRIPTION
    The role responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

    • Managing the Bill of Materials (BOM) and ensuring design specifications.
    • Implementing new technologies to improve design and reduce costs.
    • Conducting weight analysis studies for the prototype vessel.
    • Creating and updating technical documentation (e.g., SOPs, reports).
    • Facilitating communication between Design, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams.
    • Supporting the launch and commissioning of prototypes, including problem-solving on the shop floor.
