    Partnership & Relations Manager

    Purpose

    • Reporting to the Head of Employment Strategy, this role will support the work for a Just Transition in Mpumalanga by identifying, establishing, and building relationships with the key effected stakeholders/role players in the province. This will include the development of a stakeholder relations strategy and roadmap for the employment and economic development strategy of the Just Transition that must culminate into a social compact.

    Responsibilities:

    Strategy development

    • Identify and evaluate the requirements for impactful stakeholder and partnership relationships across government, industry and civil society.
    • Develop and manage stakeholder database of potential new stakeholders, partners and implementing agencies in a stakeholder partnership map.
    • Build local coalitions of stakeholders, partners, change agents and implementing agencies that focus on the social and employment outcomes of a just transition.
    • Develop and implement the stakeholder and partnership. This must culminate into a multi-stakeholder partnership which will act as a catalyst to drive economic growth and job creation.
    • Develop project plans to implement, and criteria to measure the impact of, the multi-stakeholder partnerships.

    Partnerships building

    • Ensure alignment amongst relevant stakeholders across the eco-system and assist with lobbying activities.
    • Initiate and develop relationships with community leaders, provincial and municipal government, labour organisations and business sector.
    • Facilitate dialogue with key stakeholders and draft reports on outcomes.
    • Respond timeously to stakeholders regarding public issues to mitigate risk of crises and ensure consistent messaging.
    • Continuously assess and monitor relationships with various stakeholder group.
    • Recommend and execute remedial actions to ensure alignment of relationships in accordance with strategic objectives of the PCC.
    • Monitor and report on the adherence and alignment of other Just Energy Transition fora.

    Campaign management

    • Support and collaborate with Communications to strengthen stakeholder relations in Mpumalanga.
    • Provide input as to communications strategies to increase the impact of the work of the JET Employment Strategy.

    Requirements:

    • Relevant Post-graduate qualification e.g. Political Science, Economics, Social Science or Communications
    • At least 5 years’ experience of coordinating and driving stakeholder relations with government, labour and/or civil society.
    • Successful track record of facilitating community and government engagement events
    • Ability to synthesize outcomes of community engagements in meaningful reports.
    • Excellent presentation, analytical and writing skills
    • Outstanding networking skills
    • Ideally fluent isiSwati or isiZulu speaker
