The primary purpose of a Production manager will be to oversee all aspects of the production process, to meet productivity, quality and safety standards of all products manufactured and to manage and control the team of operators for all manufacturing areas
Job Requirements
Be an active member of team in FSSC, HACCP, GMP, Occupational Health and Safety committees,
Be aware and apply to role as required, the requirements of IFF external operational audits needs (SEDEX, URSA, ISO14001, NSF, LAS, FSSC)
Ensure that the work output is done qualitatively and quantitatively, meeting all set out standards and that the department’s available labour and equipment is utilized effectively.
Manage the production process to ensure that production meets the plan, quality and cost efficient. Take corrective actions during the process as necessary to minimize disruptions and loss.
Manage the raw material inventory control with needed checks in place, to conduct location checks, to verify if materials are in correct location.
Manage Product safety and ensuring that the IFF Isando Facility complies to high quality standards
Manage Process Orders by monitoring and ensure executed according to Working Instruction and to ensure compliance to work procedures.
Communication with Planning and Customer Service for requirements as per Open Orders daily meeting to Ensure that Customer service targets for deliveries are met.
Provide and facilitate training to Production staff on Working instructions for the relevant departments
Assist writing SOP’s (Standard operating Procedures) for the manufacturing departments.
Ensure full compliance with all Safety procedures, ISO work instructions, AIB requirements and Legislative requirements and HACCP
Investigate any work-related accidents and ensure full compliance to systems as required
Maximize equipment utilization to achieve efficiency by ensuring that batch planning is in co-ordination for similar products as decided by Finished Goods Planner
Daily personnel management, communicate leave between personnel and HR, training and absenteeism in my departments., and cope with this requirement in a unionized environment.
Perform any other reasonable and lawful duties as required by the company.
Preferred Requirements
Preferably Production diploma/degree or similar will be an advantage.
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in similar field
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal direct supervision.
