Updating and drafting practical guidance on a range of regulatory and compliance issues;
Updating and drafting compliance templates, including checklists, policies, training materials and registers;
Keeping abreast of and analysing changes to applicable UK legislation and regulatory guidance;
Recognising changes that need to be made to templates and practical guidance documents;
Undertaking legal research on technical legal matters and drafting/updating templates in relation to aspects of law;
Developing essential knowledge resources which will improve the efficiency of the practitioners;
Stay abreast of legal and market developments, including monitoring of anticipated developments, relevant to our customer base.;
Collaborate with external authors regarding externally written guidance and templates.;
Work proactively and collaboratively with the other Practice Areas, especially those in the Corporate Crime, Financial Services and Information Law teams, and the wider business to enhance our practical guidance offering.
Support the development and implementation of initiatives to continuously improve the Risk & Compliance group’s legal content.
Requirements
The candidate must be a self-starter, an analytical thinker and be able to take their own initiative. The role will require the candidate to draft and review template agreements, research points of law, stay abreast of legal developments, recognise when changes in law will impact on templates and draft appropriate amendments to templates.
The candidate will be expected to work closely with other members of the UK Risk & Compliance team
An admitted Attorney with a strong academic record
Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in regulatory law/compliance
Exceptional drafting skills
An ability to communicate complex legal and procedural concepts and their practical application concisely, clearly, and in accordance with set house tone and style—in writing and using graphics such as flowcharts
Excellent legal research, organisation and planning skills
Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team, adopting a flexible, can-do attitude
A proactive approach, taking responsibility for continually developing and expanding areas of expertise, skills and knowledge
Strong attention to detail and a quality-oriented focus
Ability to think creatively, multi-task and work to strict deadlines
Willingness to engage with different forms of technology
Expertise and/or practical experience in financial crime prevention and/or data protection.
