    QA MANAGER - ISO17025 GLP

    Job Purpose

    • To provide strategic leadership to M&L Laboratory Services on quality assurance management and measurement aligned with the ISO 17025/ OECD GLP framework.
    • To Develop a QMS and set standards that are aligned with the ISO 17025/ OECD GLP standard and support and guide M&L Laboratory Services to maintain compliance across all departments.
    • To facilitate the entrenchment of a culture of quality at M&L Laboratory

    Minimum Requirements and Skills

    • Relevant tertiary qualification with at least 5 - 7 years’ experience in Quality Assurance.
    • Additional Quality qualification advantageous
    • Advanced knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and OECD GLP Principles 
    • Proven ability to lead and train teams
    • Working knowledge of the OHS Act
    • Knowledge of quality tools, techniques and systems
    • Knowledge of laboratory processes and products
    • Ability to analyse and interpret strategic and systemic trends / indicators within broader business functions.
    • Ability to solve technical problems and guide problem solving initiatives.
    • Project management abilities

    Job Specification

    • To ensure that the Management System throughout the Company meets the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025, and OECD GLP Principles in applicable areas.
    • To devote attention, abilities and skills to all aspects of the Company with regard to Quality issues, including but not restricted to the following:
    • Review of the Quality Manual
    • Management of Quality issues
    • Maintenance and continuation of the current Quality System, including liaison and communication with SANAS
    • Oversee external and internal audits
    • To ensure the confidentiality of M&L laboratory customers are maintained.
    • Reviewing & meeting customer requirements.
    • Setting standards for quality as well as health and safety.
    • Providing suggestions for changes and improvements and how they can be implemented.
    • Making sure managers and other employees understand how to improve the business through the use of relevant quality tools.
    • Defining and achieving quality compliance objectives.
    • To ensure the maintenance of approved suppliers.
    • To maintain confidentiality of all M&L information.
