    Locomotive Service Site Manager ER 1

    THE PURPOSE OF THE MATERIAL PLANNER ROLE IS TO:

    • Manage Customer Site and oversee teams performing Product introduction, Warranty and TSSSA activities (troubleshooting, failure diagnosis, fleet check, field modification, warehousing, In-directly material management, etc…).  It will be also to ensure application of EHS rules on customer site for activities under Alstom responsibility and manage Commissioning execution.

    THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITY WILL BE:
    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Deploy, manage and enforces the application of Alstom & customer EHS + security rules and relevant processes on customer site
    • Manage Customer Site team and activities execution, ensure availability of necessary/qualified competencies within the team, planning/coordinating/being technical and administrative support for the employees
    • Ensure contribution to Reliability Growth and Return of Experience through proper input of Defect/Failure management system, coordinating and collaborating with relevant interface teams, regular reporting
    • Ensure fleet availability according to contractual commitments
    • Manage and develop execution of contract, including PI Warranty and TSSSA obligations
    • Have daily, weekly and monthly reviews on activity and workload in place
    • Ensure execution of PI scope of activities at customer site including Commissioning and Validation support (if required)
    • Ensures update of maintained configuration of product in the field on GSI and SES (SAP)
    • Supervise and manage material availability on site in conjunction with supply chain
    • Manage action plans to ensure agreed objectives are met including cost of non-quality
    • Provide REX to the organization trough relevant department
    • Manage the relationship with the customer at site level including the maintainer (Transnet Engineering)
    • Manage Modification implementation and quality
    • Identify/Support Project management & Services for Upsell opportunities versus customer needs
    • Manages suitability of tools at the field sites
    • Manage team, material availability, technical expertise and management of quality control of maintainer
    • Ensure people management in line with all Alstom People process and maintain and improve employee engagement, and relationships
    • Manage labour relationship in the event of union involvement on site
    • Uphold ethics and compliance 

    THE PREFERRED CANDIDATE WILL MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:  

    • Minimum of a BEng, or BSC or B-Tech in Mechanical / Industrial / Electrical Engineering or equivalent 
    • Minimum 8 years of technical experience, mechanical or electrical / electronics, Troubleshooting
    • Minimum of 5 years experience in similar environment with at least 2 years’ experience managing people 
    • Traxx 23E Experience will be highly advantageousGood knowledge of implementing and managing Quality, Safety and Environmental systems
    • Field Experience in railway and locomotive environment

    Production Controller 1

    THE PURPOSE OF THE PRODUCTION CONTROLLER ROLE IS TO:

    • For ensuring that the timely availability of components and documentation satisfies production requirements.

    THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITY WILL BE:

    • Tracking of required material for workstations in SAP and communicate Estimated Time of Arrival.
    • Create, manage excel material status report and communicate to procurement outstanding status using SAP system.
    • Release material networks in the SAP system and communicate to the warehouse.
    • Identify missing material for already delivered workstations and upcoming deliveries.
    • Organise replacement material from the warehouse in case of loss, damage, or NCR in production.
    • Ensure that Minimum Stock levels are Maintained during Production Execution.
    • Daily walkthrough on the production line identifying potential material shortages and expediting accordingly.
    • Liaise with supervisors in each station compiling a uniform list of critical items to expedite and distribute to relevant departments.
    • Expedite urgent material from the warehouse and suppliers with the aim of a short turnaround time.
    • Have an integrational approach on expediting all missing material whether from CR, NCR etc.
    • Return NCR material to warehouse and ensure replacement material is returned to production.
    • Maintain an NCR tracker and communicate with procurement, Quality and ESS replacement material.
    • Update relevant visual management boards with relevant missing material and communicate the information accordingly.
    • Attend daily material meetings and feedback to production control.
    • Manage consumable parts in production and maintain a KPI.
    • Must be able to work night and day shifts when required.

    The preferred candidate will meet the following requirements: 

    • National Diploma in related field (preferably supply chain)
    • Knowledge of MRP based systems, preferably SAP.
    • Working experience in material management and Production Planning.
    • Hands on experience of coordinating activities within an Operations environment.
    • Experience of coordinating projects within a complex supply chain.

    Maintenance Engineer (Electrical) Gqeberha (PE)

    THE PURPOSE OF THE MAINTENANCE ENGINEER (ELECTRICAL)  ROLE IS TO:

    • Plan and maintain equipment according EHS rules, RCM and according to manufacturer’s specifications.
    • Manage sub-contractor on daily maintenance, investigate breakdowns and analyse the root cause.
    • Minimize down time and make sure production is not affected by either planned or unplanned maintenance.
    • Maintain a 95% availability on all equipment, plant and tools.
    • Provide support to maintain contractual 12 FPMK

    THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITY WILL BE:

    • Plan, supervise, and monitor the execution of planned and unplanned maintenance activities (including calibrations and other interventions)
    • Coordinate forecasts emerging as an output from the Maintenance Management System of customer.
    • Ensure that maintenance schedules are detailed, documented and implemented correctly by Customer.
    • Ensure minimum disruption of maintenance activities through effective planning, communication, and coordination with other stakeholders.
    • Investigate breakdowns and interruptions through the application of root cause analysis and other techniques.
    • Plan for maintenance consumables and spares, and ensure availability of spares through effective stock control
    • Monitor and record Locomotive availability, utilization and other KPI’s (MTBF, MTTR etc)
    • Ensure records such as status labels, certificates, reports, lifting device certificate, firefighting equipment, certificates of compliance are kept in a traceable manner
    • Maintain meticulous records of all maintenance, calibration & inspection interventions.
    • Ensure all maintenance activity complies with quality procedure and safety regulations
    • Ensure that contractors are inducted, supervised, and disciplined to adhere to quality and safety requirements
    • To establish together with the equipment maintenance contractors the planning of the maintenance activities
    • To participate and be involved in APSYS actions (actions like TPM, work instructions for equipment preventive maintenance) to guarantee overall equipment availability and effectiveness
    • To manage and follow up the optimum functioning of equipment installations maintenance team.
    • To report the required data of equipment in conformity with the industrial needs : availability of equipment and follow-up of the linked indicators.
    • To ensure the follow-up of all the equipment documentation (paper and informatics support)
    • To undertake other duties as specified by the Service Engineering Manager
    • To carry out such work in accordance with strict Health & Safety procedures as laid down by legislation and the Company Health & Safety policies.

    Project Supply Chain Leader ( Fixed Term Contract)

    THE PURPOSE OF THE SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER ROLE IS TO:

    • You are in charge of coordinating Supply Chain activities for your project, from Tender to project end, and representing the Supply Chain function within the Project Core Team.

    • Contribute to P&FM and MPS meeting preparation
    • Coordinate Supply Chain activities related to planning changes, suppliers’ changes or technical modifications with significant impact on supplier’s capacity or logistics flows.
    • Provide the date of modifications applicability (rank) to avoid excess inventory
    • Support Supply Chain organization in case of critical deliveries issues at suppliers

    During the project closure: “Secure closure”

    • Coordinate all Supply Chain activities to secure the end of production (Missing Parts) while minimizing costs and obsolete inventories

    The preferred candidate will meet the following requirements: 

    • Engineering, Supply Chain or other Professional qualifications at Degree level

    • Logistics management within an international manufacturing company vwill be advantageous
