    Safety Officer AMO (JHB)

    Description

    • Conduct safety related audits;
    • Identify latent hazards and carry out risk management analyses of those hazards;
    • Investigate, analyse and identify root cause of all hazards of incidents and accidents;
    • Ensure the operator has adequate mitigation in place for identified safety risks;
    • Maintain the internal safety data system, to monitor and analyse trends in hazards, incidents and accidents;
    • Ensure continuous monitoring system that evaluates the results of corrective actions with respect to hazards, incidents and accidents;
    • Monitor the concerns of the civil aviation industry in respect of safety and their perceived effect on FlySafair;
    • Coordinate the organisation's aviation safety programme and all related safety matters;
    • Cooperate with the training department with regards to safety training of employees as and when required;
    • Investigate all incidents and accidents involving the organisation's assets;
    • Action and distribute all accident, incident and other safety reports;
    • Collaborate with the security personnel to ensure all aspects of the security programme is implemented;
    • In collaboration with the Quality Assurance department, monitor and track aircraft component reliability and service provider audit/s;

    • Support the Quality Assurance Manager with compliance related audits;
    • Promulgate safety bulletins to all staff within the organisation;

    Requirements

    FDM Program Specialist (JHB)

    Description

    • Safeguard the FDM database and address any incidents flagged by the FDM system;
    • Responsible for the development and maintenance of the respective FDM manual;
    • Handle all FDM-related interactions with pilots confidentially, utilising Safair's training facilities and independently addressing human factors issues to resolve deficiencies identified by the FDM;
    • Collect and manage flight data from various sources, including FDR's, QAR, and ACM's, in accordance with applicable regulations;
    • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of collected data by maintaining organised databases that facilitate efficient retrieval and analysis;
    • Analyse flight data to detect trends, patterns, and anomalies, conducting root cause analysis of flight incidents and irregularities;
    • Provide detailed reports on findings;
    • Prepare and submit monthly reports to Safair management and provide feedback on FDM events to pilots;
    • Document analysis procedures, methodologies, and results to ensure proper reference and compliance with audit requirements;
    • Assist the Safety Department with incident and accident investigations as needed;
    • Collaborate with safety officers and regulatory bodies to address and resolve safety issues;
    • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on data analysis findings for the Manager: Aviation Safety;
    • Analyse LOSA audits, prepare reports, and make recommendations to the Manager: Aviation Safety for improving standards and procedures;
    • Conduct a LOSA audit every three to five (3-5) years, form and chair a LOSA Steering Committee for audit preparation and implementation and oversee the selection and training of LOSA Observers;
    • Hold regular meetings with the FDM Team and ensure the integration of international best practices within the FDM system;
    • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to the Chief Pilot, Training and Technical Departments and foster a collaborative environment to support cross-functional initiatives and projects;
    • Coordinate access to flight data requests from Safair departments or the SACAA, ensuring that data remains de-identified as required;
    • Provide regular updates to management on key performance indicators and safety metrics;
    • Work closely with flight operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to address data-related issues and implement improvements.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or Equivalent;
    • Must have/or held a B737 type rating (Essential);
    • Boeing type rated with a minimum of 1000 flight hours (Essential);
    • 3 years' experience with Flight Data Monitoring (Essential);
    • Able to work outside of normal duty hours should it be required;
    • Good knowledge of Normal and Non-Normal operations;
    • In-depth understanding of aviation regulations and compliance standards;
    • Thorough knowledge of risk management and safety management systems;
    • Sound knowledge of training techniques;

    Maintenance Planner (JHB)

    Description

    • Compile work packs for the FlySafair (planning for the next check due, informing stores of NDT required, components needed for checks) Ensure work orders are compiled on time and provided to MRO;
    • Capture work order data from MRO;
    • Create work orders for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and aircrafts in storage;
    • Follow-up on all open work orders;
    • Review completed work orders and ensure accuracy;
    • Close work orders from outstations;
    • Close work orders from MRO when maintenance is complete;
    • Perform component movement from MRO work orders;
    • Notify other departments of findings in work orders and findings highlighted by QA/QC;
    • Assist with capturing and filing ATLR's when required;
    • Arrange aircraft and component extensions per approved AMP;
    • Update maintenance schedules on systems;
    • Assist with loading of new components on the MRO system;
    • Ensure that all components installed on allocated aircrafts are correctly controlled and contain links to the last release where required;
    • Update logbooks of aircraft and major modules;
    • Update the maintenance system with ADS and SBS. Ensure that all ADS, SBS, Eos and ASBs are adhered to timeously;
    • Provide information to other departments when requested;
    • Issue Certificate of Release (CRS) to service and Certificate Related to Maintenance of an Aircraft (CRMA) documents after maintenance is completed;
    • Attend survey meetings for scheduled checks;
    • Attend post-mortem meetings and advise of any improvements that can be made;
    • Maintain knowledge of relevant regulations, policies and guidelines;
    • Adhere to statutory regulations, organisational standards, policies and procedures;
    • Liaise with the Maintenance Planning Specialist regarding scheduling and required downtime needed.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential);
    • Technical Diploma (Advantageous);
    • Technical trade in aviation (Advantageous);
    • Certificate in maintenance planning (Advantageous);

    Procurement Supervisor (JHB)

    Description

    • Implement effective sourcing strategies to optimise procurement processes;

    • Minimise GRV suspense by ensuring timely and accurate supplier invoice processing in coordination with the Procurement, Warehousing and Finance teams;
    • Monitor open requisitions and open orders on the ERP system and ensure timeously closure of these open requisitions and open orders due to the financial impact;
    • Monitor employees' clocking times and overtime, which includes ensuring the completion of overtime forms;
