    Tax and Reporting Accountant

    Job Description
    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Consolidation of month-end financial information and reporting to various stakeholders. This will include monthly and quarterly reporting packs to head office as well as assisting with internal reporting to various Business Units.  
    • Uploading of Actual, Forecast, and Budget information onto Hyperion & Prevero
    • Supervise the preparation and consolidation of annual financial statements and other statutory reporting as and when required.
    • Review of Intercompany transactions and ensuring compliance with both tax and statutory requirements.
    • Local contact for Canada regarding all Hyperion and reporting-related queries
    • Preparation of financial input for quarterly Board and monthly EXCO pack
    • Integration of commercial and financial reporting
    • Performing the tax calculations and management of tax returns for WSP – Income tax, Vat, WHT, and PAYE. Paying special attention to filing dates.
    • Assistance with internal and external audits
    • Provide oversite into the management of the financial and commercial reporting team.
    • Preparation of DSO (days sales outstanding) calculations (monthly and forecast)

    Overhead Lines Technologist

    Job Description

    • The WSP Africa Power and Energy team is seeking a competent and responsible OHL Design Engineer to join the team. The role involves delivering detailed design packages for overhead powerlines, conducting OHL-related studies, and using PLS- Suite extensively. The ideal candidate should have experience for voltages ranging from 132kV to 765kV. The successful candidate will contribute to both local and international projects, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.

    Responsibilities
    Technical Leadership

    • Responsible for tower spotting and line profiling activities for OHL projects using PLS-Suite (e.g. PLSCADD and PLS Pole)
    • Define optimum tower positions considering clearances, spans, conductor sags, terrain, and servitude constraints.
    • Ensure alignment of spotting outputs with electrical, structural, and civil requirements.
    • Drive compliance with Eskom guidelines, SANS 10280, BS EN 50341, and international OHL design standards.
    • Lead and manage independently OHL projects ( local and international) - 132kV to 765kV 

    Design Management

    • Prepare and check line profiles, stringing charts, and plan-and-profile drawings.
    • Manage inputs from survey data, LiDAR/DEM, and topographical models into PLS-CADD.
    • Evaluate alternative line routes and tower configurations for cost, constructability, and environmental impact.

    Civil Engineer/ Technologist/ Technician

    Key Role

    • The Design Engineer performs a variety of civil engineering design activities including 3D modelling of engineering designs and associated preparation of preliminary through to wayleave and construction drawings for projects, establishing guidelines and procedures and managing workload distribution within the Design team.     Water Balance Modeller (GoldSim)

    Job Description

    • We are looking for a motivated modeller with hands‑on GoldSim experience to support dynamic water balance modelling across mining and water resource projects. In this role, you will help develop and update models, integrate monitoring data, run scenarios, and contribute to reports that guide operational and environmental decision‑making.
    • You’ll work with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, contribute to impactful water stewardship projects, and grow your technical modelling capability in a supportive and innovative environment.
    • The Intermediate level GoldSim Water Balance Modeller supports the development, update, calibration, and reporting of dynamic water balance models for mining and industrial clients. The role involves working with multidisciplinary teams in water engineering, hydrology, geochemistry, permitting, and mine water management. The modeller contributes to scenario evaluation, risk assessments, forecasting, and operational decision‑making through robust simulation modelling.

    Data Preparation and Integration

    • Prepare import spreadsheets and integrate updated monitoring datasets (flow data, rainfall, evaporation, operational metrics) into the GoldSim model. Ensure data quality and consistency to support calibration and reporting workflows.

    Model Calibration, Verification & Forecasting

    • Calibrate models using site monitoring data to ensure accuracy of predictive modelling outputs. 
    • Conduct verification checks and apply QA/QC procedures to model behaviour and results.
    • Support annual forecasting processes, including model updates and preparation of technical memoranda documenting changes.

    Scenario analysis & System Behaviour Assessment

    • Simulate system responses under dry, average, and wet climatic conditions using event‑based and sequence‑based rainfall scenarios.

    • Prepare functional designs, specifications and tender documents for Thermal Power Plants with a specific focus on Nuclear Power Plant projects according to internationally accepted standards. 
    • Pursue Nuclear opportunities in Africa and work with our International Offices in the USA/Canada and the UK to secure opportunities 
    • Build and grow a team of Nuclear experts in South Africa 
    • Provide Project Engineering support for Nuclear projects in the licensing and development phases 
    • Provide project engineering support during the execution phase of thermal generation projects including responding to technical queries, factory inspections and testing of materials and monitoring progress of construction on site 
    • Preparation of proposals for consultancy services

    Qualifications

    • BSc Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) Degree  
    • 8+ years’ experience on Nuclear Power Plants  
    • An in-depth knowledge and field expertise regarding the development and licensing of Nuclear Power Plants 
    • Technical advisory experience towards Investors, Project Developers, Government entities and Banks 
    • An in-depth knowledge and field expertise regarding Nuclear infrastructure in Southern Africa 
    • Proven experience in business development 
    • Knowledge of various conventional Nuclear and small Modular Reactor technologies 
    • International thermal power plant project development and delivery experience 
    • Past experience covering a range of thermal power plant lifecycle delivery (including feasibility and development engineering, construction monitoring, witnessing testing and commissioning activities, and operational monitoring / inspections) 
    • ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer is required;

    Design Civil Engineer (Roads and Civil Infrastructure) - Cape Town

    Key Role: 

    • The incumbent will perform designs using the following vendor’s suites of engineering software tools:
    • Autodesk Suite – Roads, earthworks and pipe network modelling using Autodesk Civil3D, and CAD production thereof using AutoCAD, together with document management using Autodesk Construction Cloud.

    Senior Civil Engineer: Sustainable Water

    Key Role:

    • WSP South Africa is looking for an experienced and passionate Registered Professional Civil Engineer with water infrastructure design experience, who will function as a senior design engineer and project manager for infrastructure projects in Africa/Middle East and able to support the international business as required

    Responsibilities
    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design of water related infrastructure using Civil3D.
    • Analysis of flood systems using Hec-Ras (2D) or the like. 
    • Hydrological modelling using Hec-HMS, InfoDrainage (optional), PCSWMM is a requirement. Similar software is an advantage.
    • Design of sanitation systems will be an advantage as well in water distribution networks.
    • Urban Design capabilities which may include geometric and road designs. Knowledge of drainage designs for mining environments will be an advantage. 
    • Project management and interfacing with other engineering disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects
    • Provide technical input from initial assessment through technical and economic feasibility to design development and construction implementation to project close out
    • Carry out investigations, design, engineering calculations and preparation of working drawings and estimates 
    • Review overall project design and suggest technical and design improvements
    • Assist with the preparation of cost estimates on project designs
    • Keep up to date with industry advances, and be aware of policy and technical developments in this discipline
