Job Description
- To manage the SHER-Q activities in the Pet Food plants, including but not limited to ensuring compliance to all daily, weekly, monthly and annual activities in the plant
- Management of the implementation of food safety controls in the pet food manufacturing plants, including the in-plant laboratories
- Ensure that customer & consumer complaints, NCR’s and MOC’s within the Pet Food Plants are completed timeously

Duties & Responsibilities
Food safety and SHE Compliance:
- Ensure all documentation for SHERQ is completed, correct and submitted timeously
- Ensure that daily, weekly and monthly SHERQ checks are conducted, submitted and filled
- Manage Cleaning and Pest Control process - Ensure daily, weekly, monthly cleaning schedules are updated, communicated and executed
- Facilitate NCR, Customer complaints and Audits investigations and close out
- Ensure daily inspection completed – Hygiene, foreign matter, weight, scale, metal detectors
- Ensure all documents are sent to the document controller at the quality department daily
- Ensure compliance to FSSC 22000, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements
- Drive continuous improvement of waste reduction programs
- Ensure all SHERQ related documents are in issue and controlled, liaise with quality department with regard to updates
- Check, investigate irregularities and ensure all daily plant documents are forwarded to the document controller
- Ensure all raw and packaging materials issues identified in the plant are reported to quality, NCR raised on the NCR system and stock isolated
- Ensure that training and induction is conducted effectively and timeously
- Ensure compliance to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements
- Follow up and closure of SHE Inspections, Internal and external audit findings

Duties & Responsibilities
- Repair failures on equipment’s to restore functionality of the equipment
- Carry out preventative maintenance work including daily inspections on the machines, report and resolve any defects to ensure that equipment is kept in optimal conditions
- Carry out root cause analysis to prevent re-occurrence of failures
- Ensure job cards are completed timeously and all relevant information is captured
- Ensure all equipment is made safe before work is carried out and all safety equipment is functional at all times
- Carry out continuous and focussed improvements on machines and processes
- Assist production team in machine start-ups and set-ups when necessary
- Plan spares and arrange with service providers for pre-planned maintenance activities
- Direct and train workers to install, maintain, mechanical/electrical equipment.
- Inspect, operate, and test equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and repair failures to bring equipment back to optimal functionality
- Do fault-finding, maintenance and repairs of electrical systems and apparatus including basic PLC fault-finding.
- Define and follow Standard Maintenance Procedures for repair of electrical systems;

- Replacing and tightening of v-belts and chains

Duties & Responsibilities
Order Administration:
- Placing of general orders; example Stationery, Staff refreshments, consumables for cash office, etc.
- Ensure all orders are placed on time at the best price with the best supplier or as per contract.
- Communicate all late/unrealistic delivery dates to end users.
- To ensure all above request have got the correct authorisation as per LOA.
- Process all RTOs for general orders accurately and on time.
- Ensure that RTOs for services and goods are receipted accurately and on time.
- Send documentation, eg. POs, invoices, credit notes, etc to the head office creditors team for payment on time.
- Follow up on all outstanding back orders and ensure that these are receipted once delivered.

- Achieved the standard required on loading: short loaded, incorrect loaded, breakages and damages to be managed and addressed daily according to standard.
- Supervision of Warehouse Staff: Direct and oversee the activities of warehouse team, assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training as needed. Assist in the selection of new personnel to fill vacancies or replacements.
- Recommend changes to procedures and develop performance standards. Develop and implement performance guidelines.
- Schedules and prioritize training in accordance with the logistics plan and shift roster.

- Ensure that the team drives a culture of behavioral safety through generation of 4 BSO’s per employee per month.

- Keep accurate records of warehouse activities, such as inventory levels, stock movements, and performance metrics.
- Generate reports for management as required.
- Problem Solving: Address any issues that arise in daily warehouse operations, such as inventory discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, or team challenges.
