    Training Instructor Limited Duration Contract

    Key Job Responsibilities

    • Giving detailed inputs to develop and produce the actual operational training programs in the absence of curriculum development and multimedia production personnel;
    • Conducting training classes / coaching of a high standard, which meets the customer expectations;
    • Ensure training sessions cover specific topics as stipulated by the Joy Global course structures;
    • Ensure the effectiveness of the training is measured by written and practical assessments/ evaluations / reactionaries to evaluate training progress and to what extent the gap was closed;
    • Complying with all legislations and standard generating bodies;
    • Conducting special training classes required by the customers that are not provided for in the planned training schedule; 
    • Coaching customers and Joy personnel in the safe and efficient application, operation, and maintenance of Joy Global equipment.

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • Grade 12/N3;
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience working as an operator on Joy Global related equipment;
    • Extensive in-depth knowledge of various disciplines, including, mining methods and equipment;
    • Miner/Blasting ticket would be an advantage;
    • Must have working knowledge of South African Mine Health and Safety Act;
    • Computer literate in MS Office suit, with good report-writing skills; 
    • Valid Drivers’ license and own reliable vehicle.

    Quality Control Inspector- Contractor

    Job Specification (not totally inclusive)

    • Perform routine quality checks on incoming materials from suppliers and outgoing products prior to shipment or final assembly;
    • Use precision measuring tools (e.g., callipers, micrometres, height gauges, CMMs) to verify dimensions;
    • Compare finished parts against drawing, CAD drawings, and tolerance specifications;
    • Perform inspections during various production stages to ensure compliance;
    • Approve or reject finished items based on quality standards;
    • Maintain inspection records, including first article inspections (FAI), non-conformance reports (NCRs), and inspection reports;
    • Track and report on defect trends or recurring issues;
    • Ensure inspection tools and gauges are calibrated;
    • Help manage calibration schedules and documentation; and
    • Work with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot quality issues.

    Minimum Skills required

    • Qualified Artisan;
    • Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience in Fitter and Turner, Millwright;
    • 5 years of experience in a machining or manufacturing environment;
    • Demonstrated experience in conducting visual welding inspections;
    • Strong product knowledge and familiarity with underground mining operations is highly desirable;
    • Be able to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings and specifications;
    • Be able to work with various technical tools i.e. measuring instruments and testing equipment; and
    • Computer literate in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams)

    Quality Control Foreman - Midstream

    Job Specification (not totally inclusive)

    • Supervise QC Activities oversee day-to-day quality control operations on the production floor.
    • Ensure QC inspectors and technicians follow testing and inspection procedures correctly and compliance with KMC Standards.
    • Make sure that all products, services, or work processes meet internal standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 9000, SANSF60079 (Equipment protection by Flameproof enclosure “d”.
    • Interpret KMC fabrication / Machining Drawing, specifications, and manufacturing quality standards.
    • Record and analyze results to detect production issues;
    • Identity and Address Defects raising quality Notification and investigating non-conformities, product failures and lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives;
    • Maintain accurate QC records, including inspection reports, test results, and compliance documents;
    • Report defects, delays, and progress to QC managers or project leaders and Operation;
    • Train and guide QC team members in quality standards procedures and assign tasks to QC staff;
    • Recommend process improvements based on inspection data and performance trends;
    • Support lean manufacturing or Six Sigma initiatives if applicable; and
    • Ensure that safety procedures are followed during inspections and production.

    Minimum Skills required.

    • Qualified Artisan with trade papers and must have a certificate in Quality Management;
    • Must have an N6 Engineering qualification or equivalent;
    • A degree in Operations Management/Engineering will be an added advantage.
    • Must have at least 8 years Quality/Manufacturing experience of which 3 years must have been occupying a leadership role;
    • Must have proven experience in dealing with visual welding Inspection;
    • Strong product knowledge and familiarity with underground mining operations is highly desirable;
    • Must have sound technical understanding of manufacturing and assembly principles;
    • Be able to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings and specifications;
    • Be able to work with various technical tools i.e. measuring instruments and testing equipment and;
    • Computer literate in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams)

    Quality Control Inspector- Contractor

    Job Specification (not totally inclusive)

    • Inspect raw materials, components, and final products;
    • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of welded joints, and plates;
    • Witness and verify non-destructive testing (NDT);
    • Review material test certificates (MTC), welding procedure specifications (WPS), and welder qualifications;
    • Maintain accurate inspection reports and quality documentation;
    • Monitor fabrication processes to ensure compliance with approved procedures;
    • Verify pre-heat, inter-pass temperature, and post-weld heat treatment if required;
    • Conduct pressure tests (hydrostatic);
    • Sign off on final product release certificates;
    • Report non-conformities and ensure corrective actions are implemented; and
    • Coordinate with engineering, production, and third-party inspectors.

    Minimum Skills required

    • Qualified Artisan;
    • Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience in welding or boilermaking;
    • At least 5 years of experience working within a manufacturing environment;
    • Demonstrated experience in conducting visual welding inspections;
    • Strong product knowledge and familiarity with underground mining operations is highly desirable;
    • Be able to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings and specifications;
    • Be able to work with various technical tools i.e. measuring instruments and testing equipment and;
    • Computer literate in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams).

    Storeman

    Key Job Responsibilities

    • Off load and load parts/units from or onto trucks, manually and or by using a forklift;
    • Parts received are checked (quantity, correct part), bind and captured on manual bin card or system bin card;
    • Collect end user documentation e.g. picking slip and or Joy requisitions throughout the day;
    • Verification of parts to be issued from the consignment store, if available;
    • Pick parts to be issued and arrange with the mine end users for the collection of parts from the stores;
    • All issued parts to be verified and captured on the Joy SAP sales order;
    • Preparation of documents for the mine for the mine Logistic department to process as per mine system and prepare the documentation for the Joy administrator to pick up for invoicing;
    • Follow-up parts on deliveries and parts on back orders, keeping the end users informed of expected delivery dates.

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • Grade 12/N3;
    • Certificate in Stores and Stock Keeping or Logistics Management or related courses will be an added advantage;
    • Minimum of 2 years store related experience;
    • Minimum of 2 years SAP stores related processing and experience in MS Excel;
    • Driver’s license and own reliable transport;
    • Must be able to obtain a forklift and/or crane license;
    • Accurate and timeous capturing of data;
    • Will be required to work shifts and standby duties.
