    SCADA Engineer

    Objectives:

    As SCADA Engineer you will be part of the juwi Engineering team and be responsible for all technical queries related to SCADA system in all phases of the project life cycle. This includes but is not limited to sales support, system design works but also providing support on site during the construction and commissioning phase.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for all SCADA requirements of a PV, BESS and Wind power plant
    • Translating the contractual obligations into technical requirements and SCADA design
    • Compile specifications, scope of works, bill of materials and evaluate standards for SCADA systems
    • Approving datasheets related to the materials and components selected by subcontractors
    • Complete drafting of technical drawings such as wiring diagrams and SLD
    • Support the implementation of the SCADA system and associated equipment from kick-off to handover
    • Technical advisory and support to Project Development, Sales, Project Management, Project Purchasing & Logistics, Construction Management and Commissioning
    • Interaction and coordination with Consultants, Suppliers and Subcontractors to ensure compliant project execution
    • Ensuring contractual schedule and payment milestones are achieved, including preparation/ compilation of design packages
    • Support internal and external stakeholders during construction and commissioning. Supervise the suppliers & subcontractors in this process, ensuring the correct integration of all sensors and controls in the SCADA system

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Accredited degree as Engineer or Technician with focus on industrial controls or SCADA engineering
    • 3-5 years of experience in Automation or Scada and Plant control
    • Demonstrated expertise with industrial instrumentation, automation, PLC’s, machine control, HMI,Met Station, Cloud camera, micro grid controller and communication protocols like IEC-101, IEC-104, IEC 61850, MODBUS,NTP, DNP and OPC
    • Demonstrated expertise with distributed network systems, VPN and common network interfaces
    • Previous experience in commission of SCADA systems for PV / BESS / Wind
    • Familiarity with the relevant IEC standards, SANS and regulations

    Project Purchaser

    Objectives:

    The Project Purchaser will be responsible for all project related purchasing activities for renewable energy projects in South Africa or in other countries e.g. in Africa. Reporting to the South African Supply Chain Manager, the Project Purchaser will support the Project Manager, Quality Officer, Construction Manager and other involved departments as required for each project or projects.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Generally ensure cost-quality optimized goods and services are purchased for our projects, on suitable terms for delivery, cost, payments and quality and to meet project milestones.

    Contract Management

    • Creation, negotiation and adaption of project related and framework contracts (NDA, MoU, condition, delivery, work and service contracts, etc) in cooperation with related departments, e.g. engineering or legal department
    • Documentation of contract negotiations

    Risk / process management

    • Purchasing-related risk and cost minimization in the project, taking into account the overarching project requirements
    • Continuous process and workflow optimization in the project

    Reporting and key figures

    • Creation of comparisons of offers and price tables, including an award proposal
    • Project related cost-reporting based on existing reporting templates
    • Recognize and report quality defect, bottlenecks and other deviations and minimize negative effects across departments

    Supplier management

    • Project-related selection of suitable suppliers and service providers, taking into account the project requirements and the purchasing strategy
    • Participation in project-specific qualification of new suppliers and service providers in cooperation with other company areas
    • Information to SQM and the respective Lead Buyer about the performance of suppliers in the project in particular as part of the supplier evaluation

    Procurement management

    • Creating and control of purchase orders
    • Handling of project deliveries according to agreed project schedules, incl. logistics and customs related topics
    • Managing of deviations in coordination with related departments (e.g. project management, construction)

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Degree in engineering or business administration or comparable qualification
    • At least 3 years experience in above mentioned responsibilities in purchasing
    • Experience in contract negotiations incl. negotiations with international suppliers
    • Combination of commercial and technical understanding
    • Preferred experience in handling of Renewable Energy Projects, e.g. photovoltaics and/or battery systems
    • Fluent English incl. contractual English

    Senior Legal Advisor

    Objectives:

    As part of the Legal Team and under the direction of Head of Legal, you will work in conjunction with team members to handle all legal, commercial and contractual aspects relating to both the development and engineering, procurement and construction of renewable energy  projects in terms of advisement and strategy.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating EPC (bespoke and standard forms) and O&M Contracts and Subcontracts
    • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating project sale agreements for the sale or acquisition of projects either by way of sale of shares or sale of rights
    • Provide legal support for Project Bid Submissions and Financial Close of Projects
    • Due diligence reviews of projects (both internal and external) for the purposes of bid, sale or acquisition
    • Advise and assist with tenders and bid submission (REIPPPP and others)
    • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating corporate documents
    • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements
    • Provide accurate, timely and relevant advice to juwi Employees on all matters that relate to juwi’s business

    Qualifications, Experience

    • Senior Associate / Attorney level
    • Admitted Attorney with 5 years or more post articles experience in Corporate, Commercial and/or Construction Law, preferably in-house
    • LLB, with an LLM in commercial law is an advantage
    • MBA is an added advantage
    • Experience in Energy, Renewable Energy, Projects and Project Finance would be an advantage
    • Knowledge and understanding in contract and commercial management
    • Experience with and knowledge of REIPPP and energy regulation

    O&M Field Assistant

    Objectives:

    As the Field Assistant, you will assist the Site Supervisor in ensuring that all maintenance and operational activities are carried out in the Pan African Resources (PAR) PV plant.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Clean and maintain tools and equipment
    • Assist with inspections
    • Assist with maintenance and repairs
    • Assist the Site Supervisor with general tasks pertaining to operations and maintenance
    • Attend to equipment failures on site, even outside of normal working hours   

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • They should have a matric – as a minimum, N2 certificate (in Math’s, Science and Electrical Trade theory)
    • Relevant electrical experience
    • Interest and ability to further develop his / her technical knowledge
    • Able to communicate in English and Afrikaans, verbally and written
    • Prepared to work shifts/overtime when required
    • Physically fit and able to work in extreme weather conditions
    • Be able to work within a team
    • Possess a valid driver’s license. Ideally, have own vehicle.

    O&M Site Supervisor

    Objectives:

    As the O&M Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the maintenance and operations activities of the Pan African Resources (PAR) PV plant, including managing the personnel on the plant.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Ensure all maintenance and operation initiatives are carried out in conjunction with the company’s goals and objectives
    •  Conduct all contract administration functions for work on site – including SHE obligations
    •  Compile and submit reports to the client
    •  Monitor the plant in coordination with juwi´s Control Room
    •  Carry out daily site inspections and oversee all daily site activities
    •  Perform fault finding and diagnostics on all PV equipment
    •  Ensure maintenance and repair on all PV equipment are carried out timeously and on the set schedules
    • Ensure the accurate and on time execution of all scheduled services as well as unscheduled maintenance activities
    •  Conduct inspections and mini audits to ensure the continuous compliance of the O&M on the site
    •  Conduct weekly inspections of all facilities, buildings, stores etc.
    •  Ensure and enforce compliance with all SHE requirements
    •  Conduct / oversee all MV switching activities
    •  Manage all the staff on site
    •  Manage all sub-contractors on site
    •  Interact with Client Representative on site

    Qualifications,  Experience,  & Personal Attributes:

    • Qualified Electrician, trade tested or / S4/T3/N6 Diploma
    • At least 5 years’ experience in Electrical maintenance
    • Working experience of LV/MV substations, including transformers, switchgear, relays, etc. 
    • Previous site management experience
    • Good people management and conflict resolution skills
    • Ability to remain in control and perform effectively under pressure
    • Computer literate – MS Office
    • Good administrative skills
    • Prepared to work overtime when required, incl. standing by during weekends and public holidays
    • Physically fit and able to work in extreme weather conditions
    • Fluent in English and Afrikaans
    • Valid driver’s license

    Other Requirements and Preference:

    • Applicant must be in possession of a South African Identity Document
    • Applicant must be a local resident or be willing to relocate
    • Preference will be given to candidates who have previous photo-voltaic (PV) experience, at utility scale plants
    • Preference will be given to candidates who are ORHVS competent & certified (up to at least 33 KV)
