Responsible for working across Bowmans to design and implement well developed and timely learning solutions across departments, practice groups and regions that meet the requirements of the firm.
Experience and Qualifications:
8-10 years’ with at least 5 years’ at a management level in a professional services environment.
Blended learning design experience

Post graduate degree in relevant discipline (OD, L&D)
Key Activities
Strategy Implementation
Responsible for implementation of the learning strategy across Bowmans
Manage the planning, design and implementation of learning requirements across the firm (including ROA) for lawyers and business services
Accountable for crafting solutions to meet all the non-technical learning for the firm which includes the design and delivery of appropriate learning solutions
Design learning roadmaps per department and practice group
Collaborate with lawyers to develop level specific technical curricula per Practice Group
Design and Implement evaluation tools and strategies to assess ROI and make necessary recommendations and changes
Training Calendar
Oversee the management of the firm wide learning calendar.
Oversee the rostering and scheduling of learning related activities for the firm through Agility (including Partner and Business Service Head development and technical development).
Workplace Skills Plan & BBBEE
Responsible for timeous submission of the Workplace Skills Plan
Influence the improvement of grant refunds through alignment of programmes to the SASSETA skills development plan
Maximise the points available in terms of the BBBEE validation process as it relates to Learning
Learning tools selection and management
Oversee the uptake and change management of the Learner Management System
Identify, implement and promote the use of different technology tools to promote the use of technology enabled learning
Review learning tools in context of ROI feedback
Relationship Building
Collaborate with Head Organisational Effectiveness and Capability in promoting and maintaining stakeholder relationships and buy in
Build and maintain strong relationships with Department and Practice Group Heads, as well as Learning Partners to continuously monitor implementation of learning strategy and identify any new requirements as they arise
Collaborate with Talent Managers and KM Lawyers across Bowmans in order to support the identification of needs through appraisal process and their engagement with Heads of Practice Groups and Departments
Collaborate with KM Lawyers to implement technical learning sessions across all Countries
Liaise with African offices to ensure that their learning needs are met and integrated into overall Bowmans learning offering
Promote Bowmans as a learning organization to the external market (submissions to learning associations and HR trend reports)
Manage vendor selection process and ongoing vendor management
Engage and manage internal and external suppliers of services and products to the learning team
Design and Development
Liaise with SMEs to design and develop learning content which is customizable and available on demand
Advise SMEs on structure of learning sessions in order to make them more interactive and effective
Oversee design and development of programmes by Learning Consultant
Design and develop e-learning programmes
Finance Management
Provide input into the Learning Budget and spend
Manage and report on the relevant portion of the budget relating to programmes that fall under the Learning Manager portfolio
Management and Leadership
Manages own teams performance to ensure delivery of the approved functional strategy
Gives regular, comprehensive and constructive feedback to team and conducts their performance appraisals
Proactively seeks feedback from team members and deals constructively with any criticism
Adjusts management style to get the best from the individuals within the team
