    Pre-Sales Engineer: Server & Storage

    Main Job Purpose

    • To provide technical expertise and support during the sales process for server and storage solutions. The Pre-Sales Engineer: Server & Storage works closely with the sales team to design, propose, and present tailored server and storage solutions, leveraging company offerings from vendors such as Dell, HPE, and Huawei, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry best practices.

    Minimum Desired Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
    • Certifications in server and storage technologies (e.g., Dell EMC, HPE ASE/ATP, Huawei HCIA/HCIP).

    Minimum Desired Experience

    • At least 5 years of experience in pre-sales or technical support for server and storage solutions.
    • Proven expertise in designing and implementing server and storage architectures.
    • Experience working with sales teams to develop and present technical proposals to clients.

    Minimum Desired Competencies

    • Deep knowledge of server and storage systems and architectures.
    • Proficiency in designing scalable and efficient solutions.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
    • Ability to translate technical requirements into business value for clients.

    LIST OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    Pre-Sales Engagement

    • Collaborate with the sales team to identify and understand client needs and technical requirements.
    • Conduct discovery sessions to gather information on the client’s infrastructure and operational challenges.
    • Design and propose tailored server and storage solutions, ensuring alignment with client objectives and budgets.
    • Prepare and deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to showcase company offerings. 

    Solution Design and Proposal Design

    • Create comprehensive solution architectures for server and storage deployments, including high-availability and disaster recovery setups.
    • Develop detailed proposals, including technical specifications, cost estimations, and justifications.
    • Ensure proposed solutions adhere to industry standards and best practices. 

    Vendor and Technology Expertise

    • Stay updated on the latest advancements and features in server and storage technologies from Dell, HPE, and Huawei.
    • Maintain certifications and compliance with vendor requirements to support pre-sales activities.
    • Leverage vendor resources and tools to enhance solution design and client engagement. 

    Customer Engagement

    • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing technical insights and recommendations.
    • Address client concerns and technical questions during the pre-sales phase.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to enhance trust and satisfaction. 

    Collaboration with Sales and Technical Team

    • Partner with the sales team to develop strategies for closing deals and achieving sales targets.
    • Work closely with post-sales teams to ensure a smooth transition from pre-sales to implementation.
    • Provide feedback to technical and product teams based on client interactions.

    Training and Knowledge Sharing

    • Deliver training sessions to the sales team on server and storage solutions and technologies.
    • Share insights on market trends, competitive solutions, and industry developments.
    • Develop training materials and documentation for internal use.

    Reporting and Analytics

    • Track and report on pre-sales activities, including proposals, presentations, and client engagements.
    • Provide insights into market trends, client needs, and competitor offerings.
    • Contribute to regular reports for management, highlighting achievements and challenges.

    Certifications

    • Ensure certifications in server and storage technologies from Dell, HPE, and Huawei are up to date.
    • Actively pursue new certifications to stay aligned with evolving technologies.
    • Support team members in obtaining and maintaining relevant certifications

    Account Manager

    Main Job Purpose

    • The Account Manager will be responsible for driving business growth by managing and expanding client relationships across both the public and private sectors. 
    • This role focuses on promoting the full range of services, including Data Protection (Backup), Servers, Storage, HCI, Cloud, End-User Devices, Boardroom Equipment, and End-User Resources, as well as solutions from Dell, Huawei, HP, and HPE. Key priorities include ensuring customer satisfaction, fostering long-term retention, and securing new business opportunities. 
    • The position requires a balanced approach, combining new business development (hunting) with strategic account management (farming). Within the private sector, the primary focus should be on the banking, retail and mining industries.

    Minimum Desired Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • Certification in sales or account management (e.g., Sales Management, Key Account Management) is an advantage.

    Minimum Desired Experience

    •  8 - 10 years IT Technical Sales experience, with emphasis on ICT Client Services (End user devices, Boardroom Equipment, End User Resources etc.) AND/OR 
    • 8 – 10 years IT Technical Sales experience, with emphasis on ICT infrastructure (Storage, Backup, HCI, Servers, Cabling, Switching, etc.)
    • Business development experience
    • Proven track record of success in managing public and private sector accounts (Within the private sector, the primary focus should be on the banking, retail and mining industries).

    Minimum Desired Competencies

    • Self-starter with highly developed interpersonal skills, decisive and result oriented
    • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills 
    • Fluency in English. 
    • Exceptional analytical skills for analyzing and determining client requirements
    • Work well under pressure and commit to deadlines
    • Have excellent people skills and intuitive to customer’s business needs
    • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills for dealing with different types of customers and clients
    • The ability to work independently and within a team
    • Basic accounting and/or technical knowledge.
    • Excellent Understanding of Government supply chain processes and tender / bid process 
    • Must understand, appreciate and follow company processes. 
    • ICT knowledge – Client Services specific
    • Business acumen, compliance, and organizing
    • Strong sales and negotiation skills.
    • Excellent relationship-building and communication abilities.
    • In-depth knowledge of IT products and services, particularly company offerings.
    • Ability to identify customer needs and align solutions effectively.
    • Proficiency in CRM tools and sales analytics.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY 

    Customer Relationship Management

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients in both government and private sectors.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and escalations.
    • Regularly meet with clients to understand their business needs and propose suitable solutions from our company portfolio.

    Sales and Business Development

    • Drive sales growth by identifying and closing new business opportunities.
    • Develop and execute account strategies to meet sales targets.
    • Promote all services, including Data Protection, Servers, Storage, HCI, Cloud, Backup, Microsoft Services and Support Services
    • Collaborate with technical teams to develop and deliver tailored proposals and solutions.

    Account Growth and Retention

    • Expand service offerings within existing accounts by identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
    • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction to secure long-term partnerships.
    • Conduct regular reviews with clients to measure satisfaction and identify additional needs.

    Market and Sector Focus

    • Develop a deep understanding of the government and private sector landscapes.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, government procurement processes, and private sector opportunities.
    • Tailor sales strategies to align with the unique requirements of each sector.

    Reporting and Analytics

    • Track and report on sales performance, pipeline status, and account growth metrics.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in CRM systems.
    • Provide regular updates to the Sales Manager on account activities and market insights.

    Collaboration and Teamwork

    • Work closely with technical and operational teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
    • Participate in cross-functional meetings to align sales and delivery objectives.
    • Support marketing initiatives to increase brand awareness and demand generation.
