    Production Engineer

    Your mission:

    • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis
    • Tracking plant production and OEE and analysing the data and developing solutions
    • Materials and stock management
    • Shut planning and coordination
    • Process safety risk management and quality control
    • Assist the Production Manager with people development
    • Contractor management
    • Ensure continuous improvement and process optimization
    • Research and propose potential trials for new processes and/or equipment
    • Develop SOPs, BOPs, and WOP and troubleshooting guides(responsibility)
    • Provide tools for production team to monitor environmental Impact of the process
    • Manage budget and cost deviations (own area)
    • Safety, health and environmental risk management
    • Assess the environmental impact of production process to comply with legislation and permit limits
    • Perform standby duties as required.
    • Coordinate gatekeeping meetings (G1, 2 and 3)
    • Liaise with maintenance teams to ensure equipment safety and efficiency
    • Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other relevant legislation

    Your profile:

    • BSc Chemical Engineering or equivalent
    • Qualification in lean six sigma will be advantageous
    • Post Graduate qualification will be advantageous
    • Professional affiliation to an accredited body such as IChemE/SAIChE will be advantageous.
    • SAP system experience will be advantageous
    • PI process book system experience will be advantageous
    • South African Driver’s License
    • 5 – 10 years’ experience in Process Engineering in a specialist, supervisor or 
    • management role within the Pulp and Paper Industry.
    • At least 3 years’ experience in a supervisory | people management position.

    Lead Quantity Surveyor

    Your mission:

    • Value for money is the primary driver for the role
    • Evaluating quotations: Ensuring costs reflect scope & verifying contractor rates with industry established norms.
    • Verifying Invoices: Ensuring that we pay for actual work done when using cost re-measurable contracts
    • Working with procurement to select the best contracting strategy for each job to minimize cost and maximize productivity within the constraints of safety, environment, cost, duration, scope, quality, risks, and available resources
    • Working with Project, Senior & Plant engineers to ensure that the best contractors are selected
    • Safety, Risk, Environment & Community: Zero harm, respect the environment and the community by ensuring compliance to SHEQ systems, standards, and legislative requirements for annual Shuts
    • Relationship development: delivering the annual shutdown outcomes in a safe manner, on time, in cost budget and with agreed quality requirements by working cross-functionally between all the plants, and across all the engineering disciplines (i.e., Mechanical, Electrical, Instrument, Process)
    • Procurement and contract management

    Your profile:

    • BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying or equivalent (i.e. B. Tech - Quantity Surveying)
    • Membership of recognised professional board in QS (e.g. SACQSP, Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) will be advantageous
    • PMP (Project Management Professional) with PMI (Project Management Institute) or equivalent will be advantageous
    • At least 5 year’s of experience in Quantity Surveying & Project Management 
    • Experience working with SAP, Microsoft Projects, Primavera P6 or other Project Management software advantageous
    • A minimum of 3 years Supervisory experience/ team leadership experience is requirement
    • Coordination of skills outside the Jobs own skills area may be required
    • An understanding of the industry, products and services supplied is required
    • Manage & develop cost engineering team, leading to and during execution of shuts
    • Lead cost engineering team to developing cost estimates

    • Prepares annual shut quantities reports (daily, weekly, monthly, close-out reports)
    • Ensure alignment of contractor rates between Maintenance, Annual Shut, and projects / Capex

    Maintenance Planner

    Your mission:

    • Perform planned maintenance duties ensuring efficient operation of the Mill
    • Perform planned shuts duties, ensuring equipment availability and that work is completed within specified time period.
    • Manage contractors involved with the above functions.
    • Implementing and maintaining long term planning programmes and initiatives
    • Take a practical role in optimisation of systems and resources in shut planning and coordination 
    • Monitoring process and systems conditions and trends to improve productivity and efficiency relating to long term planning on a multi-disciplinary basis
    • Engage in liaison with other stakeholders such as suppliers, management, production department and maintenance
    • Provide support to Level 3 Senior Support Services specialists that is included but not limited to projects, business partnering and organisational performance in achieving the operational plan for the long term shut planning
    • Provide guidance to work that is being done at Level 2 that is included but not limited to coordination, reporting and communication of long term shut plans
    • Create, capture, issue and archive works orders from maintenance  schedules
    • Operate computerized reporting system 
    • Supervise and maintain the quality standards in maintenance processes and practices
    • Lead Forward Planning Activities
    • Support scoping of work with all disciplines. Directly scope work as required
    • Raise and track Master Data Change Notifications
    • Manage Bad Actor Action Tracker and RCFA Action tracker. Ensure actions incorporated within Planned shuts and forward planning activities
    • Configure PMMP’s on CMMS as per relevant Master Data Change Notifications approved

    Your profile:

    • 3 – 5 Years’ in an Engineering Planning environment within a manufacturing environment 
    • Minimum of a NFQ 5 Tertiary qualification in Planning or a Trade qualification
    • Pulp and Paper industry experience advantageous

    Maintenance Manager

    Your mission:

    • Effective management of the safety during the execution of maintenance activities.
    • Legal appointment GMR2.7a – support to the GMR2.1 in compliance to the execution of machine-related statutory activities.
    • Effective management of the personal development of all maintenance execution team members – ensuring engagement and high performance within these teams.
    • Effective management of the quality of the execution of maintenance activities.
    • Effective management of risk relating to technical change within the plant.

    • Effective management of compliance to the shutdown schedule for the plant. Further to this, engagement with the Head of Production to realise the most effective balance of shutdown schedule compliance and plant output.
    • Compilation of budgets for human, time, and cost resourcing, as per routine process.
    • Compliance with the defined cost budgets (maintenance spend).
    • Compliance with statutory requirements
    • Provide support to the Engineering and CMS departments in medium- and long-term processes (Capex planning, Root Cause Failure Analysis, etc.).
    • Provide support to the Engineering and CMS departments in the continuous development of maintenance processes and resource models (cost budgets, shutdown schedules, spare parts management, etc.).

    Your profile:

    • Mechanical Engineering degree (B.Eng, BSc.Eng)
    • Minimum NQF level 8
    • A minimum of 5 years within the maintenance/engineering function in a heavy-industry environment – Chemicals manufacturing, pulp and paper, steel processing, mining, etc. Preferably in hazardous chemicals manufacturing.
    • Experience in the management of the following core engineering processes:
