    Automation Engineer, Lichtenburg

    YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Maintaining the production plant to ensure availability during peak season.
    • Support the team with Automation breakdowns.
    • Support production in setting up various seed processing equipment.
    • Manage multiple teams during shutdown maintenance.
    • Maintain the safety and compliance standards on site, by ensure full compliance at all times.
    • Complete all monthly safety inspections on time.
    • Working in a multinational team to ensure the production goal is reached.
    • Maintain all electrical and automation equipment to the highest standard.
    • Lead the preventative maintenance effort and actively participating in the maintenance.
    • Maintaining and participate in the One PSS on site.
    • Be available on standby during peak season to support production and maximize the plant availability.
    • Troubleshooting and Diagnostics of potential problems in the plant.
    • Execute assigned scheduled and or planned maintenance tasks.
    • Support production in setting up various seed processing equipment.
    • Have specialist knowledge of:
      • Corn seed processing technology/machines
      • Satake Evolution
      • Tomra sorters
      • Cimbria equipment
      • Concetti Bagging machines
      • AEC Sheller equipment
      • Electrical motors and pumps (single and three-phase) up to 260kW.
      • Transformers and generators (2MVA)
      • PLC’s and plant SCADA systems, commissioning and installation – Siemens and Schneider
      • Siemens and Schneider drives
      • Plant network knowledge – Modbus TCP/IP & Profinet
      • Electrical single line diagram drawings (read, update, create).
      • Complex faultfinding on multidisciplinary systems
      • Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards and management system set by ISO9001

    WHO YOU ARE

    Experience & Qualifications

    • Millwright certification with an added automation qualification (Preferably Siemens and Schneider) OR
    • Electrical certification with an added automation qualification (Preferably Siemens and Schneider)
    • Minimum 5 years professional experience working and maintaining automation systems – Preferably Siemens and Schneider experience
    • Advance knowledge doing faultfinding on multidisciplinary systems
    • Minimum of 5 years professional experience in electrical/mechanical maintenance, repairs and installations
    • Fluent in English
    • MS Office software (Excel, E-mail, Word, Project etc.) (Skill level moderate-advanced)
    • Electro-mechanical skills
    • Pneumatic system knowledge

    Communications Business Partner: Crop Science

    YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Communications Business Partner – Crop Science will be a strategic and tactical partner to the business, implementing the Communication Strategy and supporting the execution of business-driven initiatives. He/she will lead the communication agenda by supporting a variety of Crop Science projects.

    This role reports to the Head of Communications: South East Africa

    • Provide technical support to the Crop Science Division on all aspects of communications as per the Country Group Communications Strategy.
    • Identify and translate business topics into messages relevant to target audiences.
    • Assess business needs and develop communication solutions to meet those needs.
    • Support implementation of the business strategy from a Communications perspective.
    • By leveraging traditional, social media and digital channels, ensure comprehensive distribution of key messages across South East Africa.
    • Responsible for content planning and creation for all Crop Science initiatives and projects.
    • Ensure proper application and usage of Bayer brand.
    • Develop and contribute to a shared communication agenda across the South East Africa Region.
    • Has knowledge and understanding of Crop Protection, Vector Control and Seed industries, including key competitors, technology, trends, challenges and government regulation.

    WHO YOU ARE

    Experience & Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or relevant field.
    • Minimum 5 years’ communications experience in Crop Protection, Vector Control, Seed or relevant industry in an international environment.
    • Experience in building and utilizing social media strategies, and influencing and building awareness in local and international markets.
    • Experience in communications programmes, including managing several projects simultaneously.
    • Proven record of building and maintaining excellent stakeholder relationships within teams, across the business, with senior leaders and external agencies.
    • Demonstrable ability to successfully collaborate with others to identify needs, provide guidance, and create and communicate solutions.
    • Lateral thinker who’s able to use creative ways to address business needs.
    • Experience and understanding of multi-cultural, multi-country/ region businesses is preferred.
    • A pragmatic and flexible approach to personal time management.
    • The ability to lead seamlessly from execution to delivery, the strategic planning and implementation of communications strategies and other related initiatives and projects.
    • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

The Communications Business Partner – Pharmaceuticals and Consumer Health will also provide support in the implementation of various corporate events and programmes.

    This role reports to the Head of Communications: South East Africa

    • Provide technical advice to the Pharmaceuticals and Consumer Health.
    • Divisions on all aspects of communications as per the South East Africa.
    • Country Group Communications Strategy.
    • Provide on-site support for Corporate events and programmes in Southern Africa.

    • Assess business needs and develop communication solutions to meet those needs.
