    Accounting Consultant (Contract)

    • Outsourced CFO is looking for an experienced Accounting Consultant who can hit the ground running.  This is a contract position open to South African citizens who are based in and working from South Africa.
    • You will need to be agile, quick to learn, and ready to thrive in a fast-paced, client-facing environment, supporting a small portfolio of mostly US-based clients.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Client Service

    • Process and review bank transactions, customer/supplier bills, fixed assets, and other day-to-day accounting tasks, including oversight of trainee work.
    • Compile monthly management reports and ensure timely and accurate annual financial statements.
    • Prepare working papers for independent review engagements with limited supervision.
    • Perform ongoing monthly reviews to ensure annual accounting records are accurate and up to date for year-end reporting.
    • Assist with payroll processing, reconciliations, and statutory submissions (EMP201, EMP501, COIDA/WCA), including review of trainee outputs.
    • Engage with clients to build strong relationships, assist in scoping needs, and support junior team members in client interactions.
    • Prepare and manage client budgets and provide insights where required.
    • Serve as lead contact for certain clients requiring weekly meetings, ad-hoc requests, and strategic accounting support beyond standard tasks.
    • Juggle and prioritize multiple smaller client accounts, primarily US-based, ensuring quality and responsiveness.
    • Execute clean-up tasks and recommend or implement more efficient accounting processes.
    • Take initiative beyond the traditional accounting scope and continuously adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

    Training and Team Management

    • Providing on the job training and manage and mentor two junior team members, overseeing their workflow and development.
    • Presenting training to the cloud accounting team

    Client Admin

    • Updating CRM with client details
    • Client scoping according to scoping document
    • Preparing client proposals under supervision
    • Assisting with clients onboarding and offboarding

    Planning and admin

    • Preparation of agenda for monthly planning meetings with the POD Leader
    • Timeous submission of Timesheets before COB on Fridays
    • Ensure that all projects assigned to your portfolio are rolled out monthly, and that all tasks are signed off on a daily basis.
    • Review of budgeted vs actual hours spent on clients

    Requirements

    • The ideal candidate for this position will hold an AGA(SA), SAIPA or CIMA qualification and have at least 2 years post articles experience within an accounting firm environment.

    Skills and Experience:

    • Strong proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Xero, and QuickBooks.
    • Proven ability to manage client relationships independently and professionally.
    • Experience working with US-based clients and an understanding of their expectations (not RSA-based approaches).
    • Comfortable working remotely with flexibility to accommodate occasional late client meetings (up to 7 PM).
    • Mentally agile, self-driven, and proactive in finding solutions.
    • Experience with e.g. Amazon and Shopify integrations is a big plus.

    Accounting Consultant

    • As an Accounting Consultant, your role is to provide comprehensive client service and support while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations. You will be responsible for processing various financial transactions, reviewing the work of trainees, and compiling accurate financial statements and management reports. Additionally, you will engage with clients, build relationships, and assist in scoping their needs. Your role also includes providing training to junior staff members. Contributing to client administration tasks, participating in planning and administrative activities, fostering a positive company culture, and staying updated with the latest industry trends.

    Job responsibilities will include, among others:
    Client Service

    • Process bank statements, supplier and customer bills, fixed assets, and other accounting tasks; review trainee work.    
    • Ensure SARS compliance: VAT reconciliations, provisional/income tax calculations and submissions; review trainee tax work.    
    • Compile management reports from monthly accounting records.

     Client Admin

    • Update CRM with client details.    
    • Perform client scoping, prepare proposals, and assist with client onboarding/offboarding.    
    • Prepare agendas for monthly planning meetings with the Cloud Accounting Manager.    
    • Submit timesheets on time.    
    • Ensure timely projects rollout and sign-off.
    • Review budgeted vs. actual hours spent on clients.

    Financial Accountant

    Job Description

    • We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant.
    • The successful candidate will play a key role within the business operations team, taking ownership of core finance functions such as accounts receivable and payable, financial systems management, month-end close, client onboarding, and external financial communications. This role is vital in ensuring financial data accuracy, timely reporting, and strong alignment with the company’s strategic business objectives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Accounts Receivable Lead

    • Oversee timely and accurate client invoicing based on signed cost estimates (CEs) and POs received.
    • Match payments received to invoices in Xero.
    • Manage credit notes and invoice corrections.
    • Reconcile bank receipts from clients weekly.
    • Debt collection and ensuring open relationships with clients.
    • Build strong relationships and collaborate with Business Unit Directors and clients in a bespoke and complex environment.

    Finance Systems Custodian

    • Maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot Xero accounting software and Zoho CRM.
    • Clean and structure financial data and ensure consistency across systems.
    • Create and maintain custom dashboards and reports in Zoho CRM.
    • Train and onboard new staff on Zoho CRM processes.

    Client Onboarding (Finance Focus)

    • Provide clients with accurate vendor onboarding documentation (banking, tax, and company details).
    • Ensure the companies are onboarded as suppliers on client systems.

    Financial Reporting & Compliance

    • Allocate invoices and POs accurately in Zoho for reporting and revenue tracking.
    • Prepare and send monthly debtor statements to clients.
    • Liaise with clients for AP confirmations and reconciliations.
    • Support internal and external audit requests.

    Month-End Close & Year-end Financial Support

    • Prepare the month-end close for the CFO to TB level.

    • Respond to ad hoc queries from CFO, CGO, and BUDs (Business Unit Directors).
    • Assist in strategic business decisions with financial insights.
    • Run internal process to forecast Revenue at February year end for Provisional tax purposes accurately.

    Requirements
    Experience:

    • 3+ years experience in a financial operations or finance lead role
    • Experience with cloud-based finance tools (Xero, Zoho, Dext) preferred
    • Understanding of financial reporting, tax, and compliance in South Africa
    • Experience in the media industry is preferable.

    Requirements:

    • CIMA or SAIPA qualification is preferred.

    Bookkeeper

    Job Description

    • As a Bookkeeper in our Cloud Accounting team, you will play a key role in managing day-to-day financial processes for a portfolio of clients. From accurate transaction recording to preparing reports and reconciliations, your attention to detail will ensure that our clients' financial affairs are always in order. This role is open to candidates based remotely in South Africa

    • Able to convert and clean up data from PDFs into Excel format.
    • Experience with cloud accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, or similar) is advantageous.
