    Head of Finance: Grow Great

    Role

    Grow Great is a national campaign to galvanise South Africa towards a national commitment towards a stunted free generation by 2030. Stunting is a social justice issue that is associated with lifelong cognitive defects, educational and employment challenges, increased risk of chronic diseases in adulthood and cycles of intergenerational poverty

    DGMT seeks to appoint a Head of Finance to lead the Grow Great finance function during its next transition phase.

    Minimum requirements

    • CA (SA) or CIMA
    • 5+ years’ post-article experience, either commercial or NGO sector
    • Advanced Excel skills
    • Sage Evolution experience is an advantage

    Responsibilities

    • Cashflow forecasts and daily management of cash flows
    • Annual budgets and investigation of variances
    • Maintain the internal control framework and compliance
    • Manage project funding
    • Monthly payroll submissions
    • Inventory costing, stock takes, and variance analysis of stock takes
    • Compliance with all relevant legislation
    • Funder reporting

    Mobile Health Services for Young People Position: Provincial Professional Nurse Coordinator x 2

    Role

    The #Keready campaign proved effective in encouraging many young people to get vaccinated and has evolved into a movement that seeks to enhance healthcare-seeking behaviour among young people and improve access to health services. #Keready now offers integrated health services taken directly to young people in informal settlement and rural areas, via 46 mobile health clinics.

    This is made possible through a grant to the Department of Health from the Federal Republic of Germany. DGMT, a South African foundation, is the project implementer, working with the provincial departments of Health in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Western Cape and Eastern Cape.

    DGMT would like to recruit individuals who are passionate about extending health care to underserved communities, focused on young people.

    We are currently recruiting for the below vacancies:

    1x Provincial PN Coordinator in KwaZulu-Natal and;
    1x (Provincial PN Coordinator in Gauteng

    The successful incumbents will be responsible for management and oversight of all Province mobile health clinics by ensuring efficient functioning of the mobile health clinic; daily, weekly and monthly planning of operations; ensuring the quality of service delivery, in line with relevant guidelines and policies; and support planning through regularly scheduled community visits.

    Minimum requirements

    • Qualified professional nurse with at least five years’ experience
    • Qualification in Primary healthcare (PHC)
    • Dispensing certificate
    • NIMART trained and/or mentored within the last two years (valid certificate)
    • Clean driver’s licence
    • Own a roadworthy vehicle (essential and non-negotiable)
    • Data verification and or auditing experience
    • Previous experience supervising mobile unit outreach services
    • EPI vaccination training (incl. C-19) an advantage
    • Family Planning
    • Growth and Development
    • Previous management experience as Salary level 12 as a minimum public health/primary care
    • NGO experience
    • BLS trained advantageous
    • Management role within the Department of Health is advantageous (e.g. Operational manager, matron, management at sub-district/district management)

    Youth Capital: Multimedia Creator Intern

    Role

    Are you interested in advocacy or social justice within the youth development sector with a focus on solving youth unemployment? Are you passionate about shining a light on young people’s lived experiences through storytelling? Do you have experience creating multimedia content? Do you know the ins and outs of TikTok? Are you comfortable to work in a fast-paced environment?

    Youth Capital is looking for a dynamic multimedia creator intern who is looking to gain workplace experience in the youth development sector. This is a full-time paid internship position based in Cape Town. Currently incubated by the DG Murray Trust, Youth Capital, is a campaign advocating for youth-centred and evidence-based solutions to youth unemployment. You will be working with a motivated team, increasing Youth Capital’s multimedia presence on social media, focusing on TikTok.

    Minimum requirements

    • A relevant degree or diploma in journalism, media or communications.
    • Adobe suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro);
    • Sound editing (Audacity or similar),
    • Veed.io (motion graphics editing platforms)
    • Basic knowledge and ability to use sound equipment (E.g. lapel mics, XLR microphones).

    Additional qualifications or experience that will be an added advantage

    The ideal candidate should:

    • Understand the role of multimedia content in social media reach/ advocacy calls;
    • Understand Tiktok and Instagram reels, and social media algorithms;
    • Actively follow multimedia trends;
    • Be able to make audience considerations;
    • Have a basic understanding of design and motion graphics principles and photography and mobile production;
    • Love contributing to and working in a team, and appreciate feedback from team members;
    • Have a love for learning and an interest in social justice and advocacy.

    Responsibilities

    • Undertake research to understand multimedia trends for social media with advocacy purposes, short-form narrative and online audiences;
    • Support the Communication team in identifying influencers across social media channels in line with Youth Capital’s communication and campaign goals (Instagram and TikTok);
    • Help strategise multimedia campaigns across platforms to reach agreed outcomes;
    • Support the creation of concepts and help write storyboards for short clips/video ad ideas;
    • Shoot and edit short-form clips of interviews or public engagement sessions;
    • Record and edit audio clips /vox pops;
    • Repurpose existing multimedia content (live panels, TV or radio interviews) into short-form clips;
    • Create artwork for soundbites and gifs/motion graphics for social media.
