    Finance Controlling Specialist - FTC

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for Strategic Management process for Budget and Midterm Plan.  
    • Provide the central platform for preparing and defining the strategies for the Country and the business units based on company Strategy and objectives.
    • Determine Key Business Drivers and Key Measures of Success.
    • Budget and Mid term planning.
    • Analysis of the business portfolio that makes up the enterprise and the expectation and contribution from each.  Cascading of those targets to segments of the business.
    • Develop and maintain budget policies and procedures.
    • Confirm budget roles and responsibilities.
    • Prepare budgets in its entirety including GP, FTE, Persex, Opex Capex and Balance sheets.
    • Consolidate budgets, calculate and set allocation logic.
    • Review and prepare approval.
    • Responsible for all activities related to the forecasting of financial results.
    • Determine forecasting assumptions.
    • Creation of base for forecasting.
    • Consolidation and finalization of forecasts.
    • Publish the forecast. 
    • Reporting and Analytics (MSO) including Management Information system. 
    • Gather internal and external data.
    • Conduct performance analysis of MSO.
    • Root-cause analysis, profitability and conclusion of findings.
    • Creation of periodic reports.
    • Support analytical capabilities and manage reporting model.
    • Reporting of data model, data governance and provide controlling application to the business.
    • Special products, action planning, identify corrective actions, prepare decision papers and report on progress.
    • Investment controlling – planning, preparation of approval and post completion audit.

    Qualifications

    • BCom Accounting degree and or Post Graduate Accounting qualification is a prerequisite.
    • Completed traineeship with Accounting & Auditing firm is a prerequisite. 
    • Experience in financial management is an advantage.
    • Basic training in the Freight industry or experience in the Freight industry is an advantage.
    • Good understanding of TMS systems is an advantage.
    • Previous experience as project manager in development and programming logic of BI tools is an advantage.
    • Good business analysis skills.

    Pricing Controller Ocean Freight

    Responsibilities

    • Support sales efforts through the preparation of accurate and relevant Ocean Import and Export estimates for clients and requests from within the company and the follow through of estimates to closure.
    • Provide commercial insight through the evaluation of estimate results to improve company tender strike rate and competitiveness.
    • Provide administrative support and back up including the creation and maintenance of estimate and freight registers.
    • Develop and establish relationships through the provision of administrative support and back up to key stakeholders specifically origin offices and the various sales units and staff.
    • Generate sales leads and distribute these to the respective Sales teams / management whilst ensuring that these leads have been attended to.
    • Facilitate and address all inter-branch queries and proactively communicate with stakeholders in respect of rates / estimates.
    • Ensure that all activities in the area of responsibility are compliant with current legal and company specific regulations.
    • Develop relationships and support key stakeholders in the business, these being sales units, vertical markets and KAM’s.
    • Assistance on global ocean freight tenders.
    • This includes leading the tender process, analysis of requirements, gathering and compiling input from all stake holders, analysis of solutions and pricing, compilation and on time submission of tenders.
    • Ensuring the solution and pricing meet the customer’s specific requirements as well as operational capabilities.

    Qualifications

    • Knowledge of clearing and forwarding industry and all its service offerings and all commercial terms (Incoterms).
    • Grade 12 Certificate is essential.
    • Relevant Diploma with a high level of numerical ability.
    • 5 years’ experience in a Pricing and operational capacity in International Freight.
